Disregard the previous weight entry of two days ago. Today I am thankful that the 5 pound blip is annihilated. I’m going to really try to stay away from stevia products. How many people plan to stay away from chocolate on Valentine’s Day. It probably would be best for me.

Thank goodness that gain is only a memory now! Good thing. I find that sweeteners of any type triggers my sweet desires. It is just easier to not go there as much as possible. Chocolate does the same for me -- makes me start looking for more. That one bite is not enough syndrome. So if I am in a vulnerable place around sweets I find avoiding them is the best plan. There are times when I certainly indulge as I don't plan to never have sweets. I try to pick my moments.

Same - 85% (at least 70%) dark chocolate everyday - 10 to 30 grams per day. Going to be the same on 14th

I am impressed with all those that can portion control around chocolate, This is something I hope to learn- because I too think it is the best of all delicious occasional treats. I just have to learn not to abuse it.

If I get 1 bite of sweet chocolate, or sweet milk chocolate, or omg any chocolate with nuts, or !!! Chocolate covered nuts 😻... so if I get those, I won’t stop till the whole pack is gone. However if I eat dark chocolate at least 70% chocolate- I’ll just a bit and will be satisfied

stevia and all sugar replacements have been studied extensively and have shown to slow or even eliminate weight loss

having read a lot of material about sweeteners, a generalized statement on them is misleading. its like the coffee is good/coffee is bad for you debate. from what i read some sweeteners are better than others. i suggest anyone interested in sugar replacements do your own reading. myself, i use Splenda, Stevia or an available sucralose based sweetener. have for years and has not impeded my weight loss. sweetener is the least of my worries anyway.

as a type 2 diabetic, all the conflicting info on sweeteners is confusing. a year before being diagnosed, a friend convinced me to give up my diet colas - using this information as well as promoting it as a way to help will all my pain issues. I switched back to the red or blue cans at work. always alternate a bottle of water before a cola... and a year later, still had the same intense joint pain, 15lbs extra and now type 2. so, despite all the internet reports and pop shaming from co workers or family people, I will drink my diet cola - I don't do coffee - EVER . Had a family friend (of my parents) shame me in a restaurant - telling me she can't believe it isn't illegal to sell that poison, that everyone should know better than to put that stuff willingly into their body....Funny though. I have yet to have a medical professional that I shouldn't have diet pop, as long as I match my h20 intake with it. I have started drinking steeped tea, but only with a sweetener, not plain. currently I limit to 1 diet cola on work days, freer choice on weekends. weekdays I average 9-12 cups h20 per work day, and generally 2-3 more in the evenings or a diet ginger for a switch up. so whats a T2D to do with all this conflicting information on sweeteners?

I noticed too that switching to 70+ chocolate one piece is satisfying enough , when I used to eat the entire bar. Now I let a piece melt in my mouth for 5 min till it’s gone and I get more out of it
