Finally out of the 190's. But not by much. I thought maybe I wasn't eating enough veggies, so last night I had a big plate of green beans and a salad with my "healthy meatloaf". And much to my surprise, down a pound this morning. I have to be strong over the weekend. I am going on Thursday to stay with my mom for the weekend. That is always hard. But she is always supportive and makes a great effort to have the right foods for me. It is usually me who uses being away as an excuse to splurge. I must not do that this weekend. Well, off to the Doc. My daughter was up all night with an earache. She gets them on a regular basis. We are good about catching it early though so by tomorrow with her antibiotics, she should be fine and able to make the trip with me this weekend. Hope you all have a great day!

Oooo... I so understand about the "mommy's here" splurges! I sooo recommend that you find some good for you recipes that are GREAT tasting, and get it planned out as to what you'll have when, so that the extra splurging will be less tempting. :) This helped me so much when my family came for the last visit, I knew in advance what we were having for dinner, so the rest fell into place pretty easily. Also... be sure to plan a trip to the park or zoo or somewhere that you all can get some good walking it, too! You can do it!! You're doing great!!

I KNEW u could do it darlin'.....and I hear ya on the *excuses* we give ourselves to go off plan.....I'm guilty of doing so last weekend when the folks were visiting.....Did ok for the most part.....but did make some poor choices......Stick with the program and you won't have to face the scales when u get back.....Hope daughter is feeling better......and you have a FAB weekend.....Hugggies

Update: Riley has an inner AND outer ear infection. Poor baby. She is hurting pretty badly. So after we waited on the Rx for an HOUR! We grabbed her lunch and a movie and she is vegged out on the couch. I don't expect special treatment, but when you are waiting on a Rx with 2 crying kids, one in awful pain, couldn't they speed up the process just a little. I mean, give me a break. No one else was waiting right there, no one had to know! kidding, sort of. I always wait too long there, and then I spend more money shopping while i wait. Vicious cycle. And why is the total NEVER what the co-pay is suppose to be. Why even have insurance? Ugh! We have a $5 and $15 copay and I have NEVER once paid that for a Rx. I am going to get online and check it out and see. Today I paid almost $60 on what should have been $10. I know we have met our prescription deductible. I dont get it. And I am definitely an emotional eater. I was so frustrated after waiting in line so long, and then spending so much money, that we don't have, and so hungry. All I wanted was to go through the drive-thru and get a big ole burger and fries. But, I DIDN'T!! I am going to get a salad as soon as I get the kids down for a nap. Yay me!!

Oh yipes! I hear ya. Man, that torques me when they do that! I end up quit "shhhing" the girls and just keep telling them, that "they are working as fast as they can for you honey, hold on", within ear shot of one or two of them. Really, I know what you mean. Our Rx has a drive thru, thank goodness, so I drive up, drop it off and it's usually a 30 min., minimum wait if you use the drive thru and then I go over to the grocery store or to get them a bite to eat while we wait and pass the time. It saves me a lot of money not having to walk the store and buy more unneeded stuff that I can't afford. I would also suggest calling your insurance and asking what is going on and see if they can't reimburse you for some of your money,... if you have a set copay, I just don't understand how they are charging more. I've been asked to pay more than I am supposed to and I tell them "no, I have a $20 copay, so you need to re-run it or call the insurance." I'm sorry, but I won't put up with it and sure enough, they had the number or insurance or something incorrectly inputted and they had to sit on the phone for like 10 minutes to figure it out and print a receipt for only $20. GREAT for skipping the regretful burger!! =D RIGHT ON! Good luck and I hope your girl heals quickly!!

Your co pay can depend on an ER visit or regular doc visit, in and out of network, etc... There are a few reasons it would be different on different occasions (This is my career, sorry it's the insurance agent in me) but ya, go check it out, you should know what you'd be expected to pay when you go to different places. And if you get charged a different co pay at the same place, same scenario, ask why...they should be able to explain exactly why. Take care of the little one, I had ear problems growing up and man are they painful. Poor thing. Get her all better so you can all have an enjoyable, healthy minded visit.

Found out that our deductible for Rx is now $75. And now we have met it for Riley. So, that was that. My co-pay at the doctor is always the same. I actually over paid there last time and didn't have to pay today. So that is never a problem. We will all meet our deductible right at the end of the year, and it will start over again in January. Happens every year. I haven't used mine at all yet. Thank goodness. I am going to switch pharmacies though for sure. There is a drive-thru one right by my house. I don't know why I haven't switched before. If I used the drive-thru, like Bully said, i could drop it off, run an errand, or let them watch a video, and be done. Right now we are at K-mart and I have to park a mile away, walk in with both the kids, and then wait and wait and wait. Decision made. I am switching pharmacies. ASAP.

Good deal! I love the pharmacies like that. My hubby and I use the one at the grocery store, we drop it off, pick up our groceries and viola! Otherwise we like CVS, and they always give us such great coupons! Drop off prescriptions, get a great coupon off some makeup product or something else. Love it! Have a great week!

Down with the "man"! just kidding. dealing with insurance companies is a necessary evil but it sucks that those who can make it a little easier... don't. kudos on the loss and keep up the great work. You are my new hero (for today any way) ;)

Oh good, so glad to hear that you have figured out why it was more than you'd expected. I had a feeling it was that. =S We had that kind of insurance up until last year, and I went back to a PPO plan, I end up paying more out of pocket, but I can't handle the hundreds of dollars in copays and like you say, sometimes, you don't even get to use your insurance. It's a tough decision, but I have our premiums taken right out of hubbys check, pre-taxes so it's not so bad. YES! So glad to hear you are switching Pharmacies. I used to feel that I had to keep going where I started, but why? I can go to this or that, it just doesn't matter, and if you know you have shopping to do at Kmart, you can always get one there again some other time, but I swear by our drive thru pharm! It's been a life saver sooo many times for me! :) Glad you got it ironed out, nothing like wondering why it costs more than expected!

I hope your little one is feeling better soon! Lots of TLC from Mama helps! I don't know what it is about "going home" that makes us over eat. Nostalgia -- I guess. Be strong. stand firm by your convictions. We'll be watching!
