Debbie Cousins's Journal, 17 January 2020

Ended up going out walking for a THIRD time yesterday - total: 2.5 MILES!!! That's not only THIS year's record, but it may be an all-time record, as well. 3.11 miles is 5K. I'm getting there! Will have the grandbabies from 3pm today until about noon tomorrow, AND I have to go to the psychiatrist today and do a little grocery shopping. Gotta get ahead all this morning because I'll have less computer time after noon. May God bless each one of you today and impress upon you all that you have to be thankful for.

OH, yesterday a friend came over and checked out our croaked van with his computer and found that the overheating had just knocked OUT the computer and that's why it wouldn't start and nothing would work. Good as new now! Praise the Lord!!! We were figuring it would cost us anywhere from $3,500 to $6,000 to get a decent "new" used van - so that is a SUPER blessing! I'm also going to take the van to get it washed today, and then take better care of keeping it clean because I've become so much more thankful for it!!!

Leave it to the grandbabies to keep you moving. Well done on your exercise goals. And glad that the van worked out

It was only a "high" of 40 today, but I put on my heavy coat, and my face mask and gloves that I bought in anticipation of the cold weather, @likat. What are you reading?

@binkytexas, I'm going to be cutting my dose of Wellbutrin (anti-depressant) from 150mg to 75mg. I told my psychiatrist that I was claiming total healing from depression and asked him for the best plan to responsibly get off ALL my medications. His suggestion of what to do FIRST is to half the Wellbutrin. One of the side effects of Wellbutrin is sleeplessness, so he's also recommending that I try 5mg of Ambien each night and only take the other half dose if I'm unable to go to sleep. So, cutting ONE medication will be enabling me to cut ANOTHER one. I go back in a month to see how I am doing with this first reduction. Next step forward will be to eliminate the Wellbutrin altogether, then to reduce the dosage of Trintellix from 20mg to 10, and then to 5 before discontinuing it. The Rexulti will be the last one to go (hopefully with Ambien eliminated somewhere during this process). Thanks so much for asking! Maybe check with your doctor to see if any of the medications you are taking contribute to insomnia and see if there is a replacement that doesn't.
