Good morning!

Well, the yo-yo-ing is still going strong.

I'm UP 1.1 kilo since yesterday.

Yesterday, I was at another workplace. I didn't have a proper lunch with me, and there was no food available other than what they had served. That'll teach me to plan ahead in the future.

On top of that, we were in the middle of nowhere, and mobile internet was not an option, which means I had no way of recording my food on the fly.

Sure, I could have simply written it down. I didn't. I ended up just not bothering, but simply tried doing allright.

I know I did NOT do allright. Not at all.

Today is another day.

I don't feel that the weight gain is totally justified, though. Sure, I probably at more than I would when I count, but not a full frickin' kilo! Come one! lol.

...

So, I dug out the old smart smart scale. I found out some interesting things.

1. It does weigh about 300 grams heavier than my newer one. Can I use that as an excuse for my gain? No. But I could maybe have it account for 300 grams of it. It doesn't really matter.

2. There HAS been some significant changes.

My measurements on this scale today says:

Weight: 91.6 kilos.
Fat%: 10.8%
Visceral fat: 11
BMI: 28.9

Now, I went back in my calender to find a day where I weighed just about the same, to see what the numbers said back then.

I came to December 6th, 2012. So this is still AFTER my surgery, but before I started working out.

These are the numbers I recorded that day:

Weight: 91.7 kilos
Fat%: 19.6%
Visceral fat: 11
BMI: 28.9

Now, THIS is interesting.

I have - compared to that day three months ago - not lost ANY weight. However, my fat percentage is down with a whopping 9%! Hot damn!

This is DEFINITELY encouraging, and definitely an eye opener (of the good kind)!

I do feel that my belly fat is softer. I do feel in WAY better shape. I do feel changes. I feel stronger. I feel better. But it's been so frustrating to not lose weight.

But a body fat percentage change of 9% is a significant change, I'd say.

Simple math says that 9% of 91 kilos about 8 kilos. So does that mean that I can more or less interpret this in the way that I have changed 8 kilo body weight from fat to musicle (or potentially, fat and water)? What do you guys think?

It's too bad that this old scale doesn't record muscle. It would have been nice to have that number.

Still, I REALLY want to weigh less. As much as I enjoy that I am stronger, I still feel weighed down by being heavier. I still feel that I can do better, optimize more. I want to do this.

Today, I am back to normal schedule. Out of bed, breakfast, workout, work, home. Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing that should throw me too much off the program, unless I go to the candy store. Which I won't. I promise. :)

Today, I'm thankful for:
- Realizing the massive change that I never really saw sneak up on me.
- Morning coffee.
- A day with nothing out of the ordinary.

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Maybe it be full of positive experiences! Life is good!

Congratulations on the body fat percentage change! I would say that a large portion of the 9% difference was from your body changing fat to muscle. Keep up the good work! Sometimes, you won't always see changes, but will feel them!

Thanks, Katie. I gotta say that seeing this has made me a LOT more comfortable with NOT losing the weight I want. LOL. I'm not sure this is a good thing, though. I still want to lose some weight. :)

And you will! Your body will HAVE to respond to your dieting and exercising at some point!

Don't let the number weigh you down. How about writing your journal sometime before you weigh. Just a thought. For example I've been eating healthy active and feeling good about myself and choices but the scale didn't move again this week and for a couple mins did the whole (ugh thinking) - but you and I, all of us are more than numbers on scales. Focusing desperately on that scale is maddening when you have so many other great things going on in your health right now. Buck up little soldier :-)

Bella, to journal before weighing in would give me a number of problems logistically. I weigh in first thing after potty visit in the mornings. To change that around would make me have to journal before breakfast, as breakfast is after weighing in. It would have me get dressed to then undress later, and generally make things really unneccesary complicated. This wouldn't be an option, unless I wake up earlier than normal. I have done it like that on those days now and then. The number isn't all THAT important. I think it's helped me a lot to see the lower fat content of my body. It really made me happy and helped me feel that I AM accomplishing something. Trouble is of course that I have sort of lost my indicator in regards of how far I am reaching my goal qualifying for surgery. TO get a grip on this, I wrote to the surgeon today, confirming that I'd like to keep my visit early April, weight loss or not, for her to see where I am at that moment and let me know what needs to happen. :)

Okay buddy - I guess I was just thinking big picture about how fabulous you are and how well you've done and wanted to acknowledge that but commented clumsily - have a great day :-)

Wow I think 9% is an awesome achievement. The scale is just a number. And just like you said it doesn't tell you your muscle. Don't be so hard on yourself. Be proud of all you have accomplished!
