Good morning, buddies!

Yesterday was a great day. I did my stats at the gym (more on that in a bit), I had great fun going out with Wife, we had awesome dinner AND I managed my calories well.

So, I got to do the LOOP check, as they call it. Essentially, they use a smart scale to do it, but it's one of the really fancy, pro-type ones. I'm not sure if they really are that much better, but fact is that the numbers were not all like mine. Some were pretty far off. Hmmm...

The weight was the same, within 100-200 grams. Considering that I weighed in a the gym, and had to counter for gym clothes worn, and did this several hours after my own weigh-in, I'd say it's pretty accurate. I was 90-point something (don't have the papers here with me), and I was 90.3 at home the same morning. That's fine.

Now, my fat percentage when I do this at home is around 20-25, depending on the day. At the gym it was 15. Wow. I would say that's quite a difference. Also, my abdominal fat is 7. I can't measure that on my new scale, though.

Maybe it's time to pull out the old scale that has those numbers, just to see how they measure up? I'm gonna consider that.

Now, what really made me smile was measuring my metabolic age.

In real life, I'm 43. Metabolic age is essentially how they see that our calorie burn is doing, compared to the age of an average person (or something like that). Turns out, but metabolic age is 28! 28! Let me repeat that - Twenty-frickin-eight! Now, that just totally made my day! :)

I was honestly expecting that to be AT LEAST my own age, plus something.

...

So, Wife and I were supposed to go to Copenhagen and hit a Turkish Buffet. We ended up going to Roskilde (where I had my surgery done) instead, and hit a rib house.

I brought my little scale, and weighed everything. I weighed the ribs before I ate, and weighed the bones after, thus knowing exactly what I had. Also, they had nutritional value posted, and that helped a lot.

Along with it, I had a baked potato, with a little garlic butter. I scraped most of the butter out, and it was just fine.

Dessert? Yup. I had dessert. I had more than 600 calories left in my RDI, as I only had a light lunch and I totally forgot to eat breakfast when I got to work, so I decided I wanted ice cream. I had two small portions, all accounted for.

I ended up with 33 calories left, and it was just perfect. I was full, satisfied and felt that I had accomplished my mission.

Today, I weigh in 200 grams lighter than yesterday. It's no new low - I'm several kilos higher than a new low - but that's okay. Seeing the numbers yesterday made me not panic over this.

I'm starting to notice more and more little things that tell me that I am losing fat, even if I'm not losing weight. The skin on my back and stomach is looser. The fact that I feel my knees agains each other when I lie on my side. My slimmer hands. I'm getting cold all the time.

At the same time I see myself bulking up. One of these days I'll take a picture. I'm no Schwarzernegger or anything, but I am clearly more fit than when I was super creepy thin. I look a LOT better this time around, and that makes the gained weight worth it. Really, the most reason I have for lowering it is the surgery. I'm pretty content with myself.

...

Today is Indulgence Day. I'm not sure I really need it, but I'm gonna take it and just enjoy a relaxed day, count everything, but not having to play tetris with my calories to make it all fit in.

I haven't had breakfast yet, and it's 9 AM. I think we're heading out soon, so I am seriously considering just having a huge glass of water before we leave, since we're already gonna eat in two hours. I don't really need to eat right now, and I'm not really too hungry. I can wait.

Wife and I are gonna go to the little lunch buffet as always, and we're gonna have a nice day catching up on a gazillion tv-shows that we haven't watched yet.

Then I'm gonna assemble a new cart/buggy/whatever-we-call-these-things, that came in the mail. It's a massive, off-road-capable one that I need for my music gear. Hopefully, it'll help me moving things around, going to practice and playing live.

My new bass cabinet is sitting at drummer's house, teasing me. I am dying to hear it, hear if it really is what I'm hoping for. I think it is. :)

That, along with the fact that we're having a serious guy trying out as a singer tomorrow, is making Sunday a VERY interesting day.

Today, I'm thankful for:
- Weight loss after restaurant visit. I'm so happy that Wife didn't want sushi! LOL.
- A great cup of morning coffee, from freshly grinded "Elephant coffee beans". Nice.
- A Saturday with NO PLANS! YAY!

Have a great weekend! Life is good!

Bella, Elephant coffee beans are coffee beans specifically picked for their larger size. They're primarily Mexican coffee beans, and the larger size gives them a different flavor. We really like them in our household. It's a deli-coffee thing, so they cost quite a bit, but every now and then we treat ourselves to a bag. :)

That is so awesome!!!! I am going to be buying calipers soon since no one around here offers BF% measurements that way. Can't wait to hear what the difference between it and your scale is. :)
