59Carol's Journal, 30 November 2019

It is here! Onderland! After all the anticipation and inching my way towards it I finally got there. Still a ways to go but will be nice not to have a '2' leading the way.

Once again the numbers rule! I ate on average 1209 calories over the last 8 days and the result was a 1.8 pound loss. My goal is to average between 1185 and 1210 calories with the expectation that I will have a loss. And that is what happened. I love correlations that work. I don't like it when it feels like I have magically lost or gained since I have no idea as to why either happened. I want to know what the target is and aim for it knowing that success will occur if my aim is fairly good.

Since this is month end it is good to note that during this month I have lost a total of 5.6 pounds with no week logging in a gain. There were a couple of squeakers of 0.2 and 0.6 losses but they weren't gains.

I found some nice hardwood flooring when I was in GP and even better it was about 50% less than expected. It is maple and will look lovely once it is installed. I have emptied out my bedroom, study and living room in anticipation of the fellows coming in on Monday. Last night I slept in the basement since that is where all my stuff is. The goal is to have it done by Christmas. The two fellows are hard working and talented. I have known both of them since they were children and now they are around 40! Point is I have faith in the two of them.

The Grapes of Wrath was an interesting production and it was lovely to see my young friend playing the banjo throughout the production. I also have my international license -- good thing only the car rental agency people are likely to ever see it as the picture is beyond awful. I am sure I have tipped some continuum into new levels of just how awful a picture can really be!

How exciting! I still have a long way to go, but I'm heading there, too! I know what you mean about driver's license pictures. Have a fabulous trip. Oh, and the new flooring sounds very pretty. So much going on in your life right now, savor it all!

Thank you to all of you for your lovely words of encouragement and cheering me on! Shirfleur- pictures in general are not my friend but license ones are even worse. I know they are hard on lots of people as well.

CAROL- OMGosh- My license had finally expired and I was thrilled because I weighed 50 pounds less than the expired picture. But it was horrible. I somehow came out looking like I had gained an additional 25#. It was so sad that it was hilarious. If only they could let you see what you looked like prior to snapping the pic- like taking a selfie. I'm stuck with it an additional 4 years now. Ha.

It has been a wonderful feeling saying goodbye to the 200s. DP- Shortly after finishing chemo and my hair was just coming back my license expired. I tried to get them to just keep the picture I had but nope it was a no go. So for 4 years I had my chemo look. Thank goodness I seldom had to use it for ID.
