Day 4 of a planned 5 days of ‘no solid food’ fasting

When I need to lose weight I lose it fast. I lost my initial weight, at 49 years of age, in 3-4 months. From that time on, (over a year now), I have been in ‘maintenance’.

However, I have recently got it in my head that ‘during maintenance’ the scale should not go above 170lbs.

The reason is that after a year of being 5-7 pounds of my BMI weight, and weight lifting and running, my upper body, and my arms and legs, are lean. So my fat is all sitting in my gut. So now it looks worse than when I had fat spread out all over my body.

So, now I have to focus and dig in and drop down to like 163lbs, and do it as-fast-as-possible.

The only reason I don’t just go on a 5-7 day water fast (this will drop 10-12 pounds easy), is that next week I am literally being paid to eat lunch. So, I may consider doing the water fast after that event…

@mrsroboto - Haha you would think so, but every time it happens (about 4 times a year) it *always* comes in the middle of a 'fasting period'. Yeah I know 'first world problems...' :)

@Erquiaga - Yes that is the plan :) I am deciding between <100 carbs or <50 carbs a day. I know proper #Keto would be <20 carbs but that is really hard for me when I eat solid food. Haha!

Adef I don’t comment on your posts a lot for many reasons though I read them. My question, is and sorry if you have answered it before, will you continue fasting mon-fri and only eating on the weekends for the rest of your life? Or do you plan to stop fasting and eat 7 days a week?

@Swedishblondie - Keep in mind I am not really 'fasting' in the normal sense so I can easily do this for my entire life. However, I never intended to do this for the rest of my life, but, since it works I decided not to stop for now. In the end the macros are what a Keto person consumes. When the contents of macros hit my blood steam it all becomes liquid at that point :)

I am all for fasting, not even for weight loss either but a spiritual balance, my husband's father is 98 and fast every Monday and Thursday no food or drink he starts before sunrise till sunset and completes his fast with several dates and a light dinner. His health is strong. I want to try a 5 day water fast myself but that will be some time from now. Best to you.
