It's surprising how I'll feel like I have overeaten but still be under my RDI. I wonder if there's a relationship between that feeling of being overfull and the carb-fat-protein ratio. Yesterday's CFP ratio was 40-39-21.

Did not eat dairy this morning (we had turkey bacon, poached egg and grits) and don't have a mucus problem, no throat-clearing. I'll give it another day and see how that goes. I will miss yogurt and cheese. :(

2:15pm -- wanted caprese salad so badly for lunch, but a thick slice of mozzarella is off-limits for now until I can figure out my dairy issues. Still, lean steak strips on a bed of baby spinach with lime dressing was out of this world. Geez, I love eating real food now.

I'm not sure it's the CFP ratio, so much as the nutrients (vitamins, minerals, proteins) you are getting. If you're eating nutrient-rich foods, you are going to be satisfied on less food. It's the empty-calorie junk foods that make you feel hungry. I still think the mucus problem may be a combination of hot weather and dairy. When the weather cools down, you will probably be able to tolerate dairy better.

I've not heard that one before. I wonder why the body doesn't tolerate dairy well in hot weather? Would you happen to know if there are good vegan substitutes for cheese and milk? Soy of course, but I bet there's more.

I know that dairy always thickens the mucus, and thus why singers and performers never drink or eat dairy before a performance. Plus if you have allergies in general, the two could mix and make for the problem you're having. As far as substitutes, there are things like Rice and Almond Milk as well. They also make vegan "cheese" out of different things and I've seem it in some regular local supermarkets so it shouldn't be too hard to find!
