madjak30's Journal, 28 January 2013

I'm not using the calorie tracker any longer. I just don't have the patience for it, but I will try to be more active on the forum and in my Journal to keep contact with the great people in here. We all have the same goals and it is nice to be surrounded with like minded personalities.

I leave to work out of town in about two hours, I can't sleep so I'm having a tea and planning my road trip. I will be away from my girls for the next 22 days and it is stressing me out, but I'm glad to say it isn't causing me to eat...something positive! This is a new phase in my career and the change is good, just not easy to be gone for such long periods of time. I have no idea how guys can be gone for months on end...

Anyway, my plan is to get back on my workout routine since I've slacked off for the last month...I'll work out a new schedule for myself tonight when I get to the hotel since the one on my wall has me walking my dog and spending time with my kids daily...not that I have been following it, but now I can't...bummer.

I'm still going to be doing a weigh in, but I'm not going to be using BMI for any kind of gauge to how I'm doing. I was talking to a fitness advisor at the gym and they suggested that BMI isn't as good of a guide as a body fat meter...so I'm going to pick one up and go with % body fat instead...BMI shows me being obese still and I need to lose 45lbs more to reach a healthy weight...I just don't see that as being a healthy weight for me. I also had a great break through with my diabetes on Friday. My doctor told me that she didn't think that I needed my medications any longer and suggested that I go off the meds and just monitor my blood sugars. They are now being controlled by diet and exercise, so that was absolutely great news!

I better get back to my day, and I hope everyone has a good one!
