weight's up again. A week seems so long when your weight goes up and down on almost a daily basis!! Seems like so much "drama" has happened in a week if you go by the adventures on the scale!!! I'm gonna completely disregard all that drama. Wanna hear some juicy cliches (to tell your scale?!)..here're two: "Save the drama for yo mama!" and of course the classic, "Talk to the hand--coz I ain't LISTENING!!"...

But just for the record, here're some possible reasons for the jump:
1) Very little sleep: went to bed at about 6 am! Was up all night working, and woke up again at 10 am or so (so only 4 hours of sleep). Thus, it's possible the metabolism hasn't had a chance to process the food through the usual 8-hr long sleep cycle,

2) Related to that, I did eat some late night/early morning snack of the whole wheat roti and cumin salt powder (described in my journal from two days ago). Eating late, and the salt may have contributed to the gain,

3) I did have more than usual amt of coffee yesterday--two large to-go cups...I tried to drink enough water, but I think I may have been a little lower than usual on the water-intake

Ok, those are only a few reasons. What am I planning on doing? Well, tackle more of these deadlines. Get a mid-afternnon nap. Workout at 6 pm for an hour. Drink plenty of water. Eat higher proteins, and very little carbs for the next couple of days. I REALLY want to see the upper 50s---they've been ELUDING me for so damn l..o..n..g!!

This weekend I need to look fabulous for my sister's birthday party (they have SKINNY friends, and while I can't look like that, I certainly want to look as best as I possibly can at this point..). Seems like carbs and alcohol is my achilles' heel at this point, and I need to almost become an atkinian (?) and temporirarily give up both (well, almost give up..)

160.4 lb Lost so far: 17.6 lb.    Still to go: 30.4 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

I'm sure you will look AWESOME for your sister's party! You always do! Just look at that new picture - lovely! Try not to compare yourself with skinny people. It's just a body size! You are a healthy person with a wonderful personality. That lights up a room a heck of a lot more than "skinny"! Great job not letting the scale get you down - it's just a little slow. It'll catch up.

I think it's time to send that scale to solitary confinement and don't let him out until he cracks! Is there any end in sight to this crazy, deadline packed schedule you are enduring? Hopefully there is, and if you can just hold out until things calm down a little, you can shoot for some solid losses to set you up in the 150's and beyond. You look fabulous in your new photo. Remember, sexy is a state of mind. So broadcast those sexy vibes at your sister's birthday party. They won't know what hit 'em!

Man, do I know how feel. I finally got into the 170's but everytime I mess up or just fluctuate I'm back in the 80's with Duran, Duran. What the hell? You can dome join us anytime but, you'd have eat meat!!! Hang in there, as long as we don't give up, we're winning this battle. I'm sure you'll look fab at the party but yes, you'll look even better if you low carb it and drink lots of water = less bloat.

ha ha! I got you, Kim, don't worry. And yeah, we WILL win this battle!! In the meantime, we can drown our misery in booze..um..no..just water (with a twist!) :)

And Ev, unfortunately the "deadline packed schedule" is only going to get worse when school starts in two next week (OMG, can't believe it's NEXT week! gulp. . Hence, I am scrambling to get everything in order so it will be a streamlined, less-painful process once the madnes of the academic year hits!!

First of all...you already look FABULOUS! You will look fantastic at your sisters b-day party, have no fear! Could Aunt Flo be coming to visit, might be why you're seeing a gain? Whatever the case is...you look great, just because the numbers aren't showing what you want them to, being an "outsider" looking at your profile photo....you have nothing you should be hiding! well, one great thing about this upcoming weekend, is that you'll adhere to your diet like the dickins!! :) I CAN'T drink alcohol, dude! I was/still am bloated from the 3 lousy beers I had on Saturday! BTW, does that mean you're going to go MIA once school begins????? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SAY IT ISN'T SO!

Thanks guys, for the lovely votes of confidence!! Remind me to look here instead of in the MIRROR the next time I want to feel good about myself :)! BadAndee, no way will I go MIA when school starts—this time I’ve got my priorities on straight! No way will work take precedence over my health, sanity, and general well-being!!!!! (Tad dramatic, eh? ;)) LOL.

Rum and diet coke have 0g net carbs!!! For the record. ;) I think carbs are everyone's weakness. They don't call it comfort food for nothing! Keep up the good work.

You do look marvelous! May I suggest trying to use your food diary? I have seen it help A LOT! If it's too hard to get the hang of at first, at least put in your journal what you ate that day and do it daily. I bet we can look at it and help you figure something out, but it sounds to me you're one smart cookie and you'll get it down. Hang in there!
