Yesterday was a great day. I saw my sister & parents for a Parcheesi day and Father's day combo.

We went out to lunch, played 3 games of Parcheesi, helped them fill out their health proxy paperwork, and made them a will.

Then E showed up to take me to the movies and dinner. We ended up playing cut throat Hi Low 9/5. My dad won.

Only my family could have so much fun filling out end of life paperwork. My dad was teasing me and I said "watch it old man, before I put you in a home and rob you blind". We were laughing soooooo much! It was a great day with them.

They made me the one in change & the first executor over my older sister. Mostly because she didn't want the job & I like paperwork and financial stuff.

I am glad we can be so honest and upfront. I know it will be slightly easier since I know their wishes and I won't have to think. They are donating their bodies to science and then we will get their ashes about 2 years later. They said no obituaries or wake. We decided on a memorial. We did that when E's mother passed and it was really nice.

It was a heavy calorie day with 2 dinners out, and 2 iced coffees, but it was my Spike Day. All is well.

Seems like you have such a close-knit family. What a blessing! I'm also donating my body to medicine when I pass on. As an educator, I appreciate the good that can come from giving back so others can learn how to make medicine better for all.

We are close. It is a joy. It is a wonderful thing they are doing, and you as well. I do like that we get to skip the wake, too.
