Saturday and steady weigh-in ... 184.4 ... same as yesterday.
Okay, now this may sound silly to some of you but I have been curious about Forever 21 where some of my younger buddies shop. Now, I pretty much assumed NOTHING there would be either appropriate for me or would fit me but I was curious. So yesterday I drove the long drive to the nearest mall with a Forever 21 and perused!! Imagine my surprise when I could actually wear some of the clothing ... even bought myself a couple of tops and skirts!! And ... I was not the largest woman in the store by a long stretch!! LOL!!! I know, I'm goofy sometimes.
Laundry is underway and exercise, this morning was elliptical, is behind me. 45 minutes and 600 calories. Hopefully that will help counterbalance whatever I eat for dinner and drink afterwards!! No doubt the scale will fluctuate back up a bit ... it typically does ... but it WILL decline again and maybe next week at this time I'll be under 184.4 ... one just never really knows.
Grateful I am ...
1. for an enjoyable Friday, a little work, a little shopping, a good dinner, and a movie at home relaxing.
2. for a good week of staying on track and seeing my numbers come back into my range.
3. for slugging through funkiness ... not letting those moments overwhelm me ... not medicating myself with food.
4. for all the dogs and cats I meet in my work (I know I am supposed to be concentrating on the children and parents but I so enjoy the animals!!!).
5. and finally today I am thankful for maintaining this range for such a long time ... no 'diets' for me because the word 'diet' has come to mean something we go 'on' and 'off' and that has always been a problem for me. Easy enough (relatively speaking) to lose the weight but keeping it off???? Much more of a challenge. I hope, I hope, I hope I continue. It really isn't about hope it is about the choices I make day in and day out. Nothing is in my way except myself. There is no reason that I can think of that I ever need to gain a substantial amount of weight again. The ten lbs I may go up and down is not an issue ... I choose me. I choose to take care of myself. I choose life.
Well ... a couple of things to iron, maybe a couple of things to do around here ... decisions like "what should I wear tonight?" to be made, a birthday card to sign, 2 days off!! Yes. I hope everyone enjoys their weekend and you each find your own way to embrace where you are, to choose kindness towards yourself and others, and continue to travel this journey of life.

Is tonight date night for you?? just curious. We try to do date night once a week and for our night out she chose Buffalo Wild Wings, for the Nachos, and a El-Patron Mango Margarita.

Carol I just knew you would love that store. They have some really cute things and the prices are great. Good job maintaing that weight. I think you should wear something really sexy and go out and kick up your heels. I am going to the movies today and I will let you know what I thought of it tomorrow. Already finished exercising and all ready for whatever this wonderful day may bring!

yes ... I guess it is date night!! We figure it is "our turn" now ... kids are grown and gone and we are trying to pack as much enjoyment and fun into our lives as humanly possible!! LOL!! I think we'll do Mexican tonight for dinner which will most definitely include a margarita or two for me!! I'll most likely choose one the the Shrimp and Rice dishes on the menu!!

Cathy ... I love your attitude!!! Kicking up my heels is definitely in my future (however hanging upside down I hope is not!!!) this evening. Short skirt, high heels, and fun!!! Have a great day!!! I'll look forward to the movies review!!

lol:) I think a margarita is in my future too! Who knows...maybe a couple of them. Short skirts and high heels are my favorites. Just love those high heels. Wear them everyday. lol Good for your muscles.

moose...your journals are always uplifting and inspirational. Thanks for being such a wonderful, kind-hearted person:) Enjoy your date night! My hubby and I have "lunch" dates being we still have 3 kids at home. Every other Friday is our time. It's so important to have that time.

absolutely Tammy!! When our kids were young we occasionally did get-away weekends ... so important to keep the coals hot!!! I was always so sad when it was time to go home ... now we have the pleasure of not worrying about the kidlets!! I loved being a mom but I also love having a grown-up household!!

Forever 21 here I come! I guess I assumed it would be Ho-ish, lol :). The name made me think of going clubbing :). I go to a mall that has one and have never gone in. (btw, I used to wear ho-ey clothes and go clubbing - nothing wrong with that!, but I'm not into it now. I prefer quiet nights at home with my sweetie). Have a great Saturday!

My daughter like forever 21...and although, I never bought anything there... I did buy a Forever 21 shirt at a consignment type shop...It was 4 dollars and super cute... Cute enough and trendy enough to weear out with the girls with a skirt... but also I can pair it with a blazer and dress pants for meetings at work!! I LOVE versitility in my clothes!!!!
Enjoy your night!!! and drink a margarita for me... ( Strawberry, frozen, no salt on the rim!!!)

moose- i am so glad you went in:) i bet you feel great now dont you? it is hard at first to go into some of these stores when you have the idea in your head that only a certain size person can shop there- and look at you, you proved yourself wrong, went it, lookes, tried on and bought! good for you:)i find some things in there from time to time too-

Almost died when I read you went to Forever 21.....my daughter LOVES that store....and I was JUST looking at her iPod....she has an app....and I TOO was thinking..."ummm maybe I will check them out!". I've gone in there plenty of times with her,,,,and the prices are awesome!!! Have to say I've bought GUY t shirts to cover the body there. Never enough courage to look for myself!!! But soon...soon...I will.
I keep joking with my daughter who is a size 5. Okay so YOUR a 5....yeah I wanna be a 5!!! Don't know if I'll ever hit single numbers again......but I'm certainly gonna try!!!!

Nice Carol - I'm so glad you went there! I just bought a olive green skirt there today - its cute, but on me a little longer than I would like... So what did you buy?? Its so strange to hear that you have to travel far distances to get to stores that we have countless numbers of just around the corner... Though its probably a good thing - you won't waiste as much money as someone like... ME! LOL Have a great time tonight!

Hi Moose, the Sacramento Temperature is up to the 100's so my laundry is piling up. I will have Mt. Oh SH## if I don't start this evening. I will take a peek in the forever 21 store as it sounds like a fun venture. Live the age you wish to be! Personally I am thinking around 33, 35? Although I must admit I really like the "Me" at 47:) Hopefully my computer will limp along for awhile as I started having a panic attack today when I couldn't log in. Seems my habit of checking in with buddies on F.S. is very dear to me. Enjoy your weekend. Towanda!!

Your #5 is very true, you have been maintaining well for a long time. I prefer not to consider myself on a diet either rather just making minor adjustments here and there as needed. Anyway, you sound great! :-)

If you haven't already, check out H&M. It's one of the few places where both my 18 year old and I can shop together...it's fashionable, affordable, and age-appropriate.

LOVE Forever 21 prices. The close doesn't seem to last but who cares! lol Glad you went in there and found stuf. They have a plus size too, and a maternity lol which is all over the news for targeting YOUNG moms, while I am thinking "cool, if I ever do get preg again, I will have something cool and cheap to wear LOL" Love your list, as always. And hey- this is Fridays journ? where's a new one????

Love #5, I am so sick of saying I am on a diet. I AM ON A HEALTH PLAN FOR LIFE. I need to keep this in mind. Thank you for reminding me. I don't think we have Forever 21 in Florida, or at least in malls I have gone in. I am in Southeast Florida, and have not seen any. Now, I wish they did so I could check them out. Have a nice week Moose and again, thanks for your "grateful" lists. Makes us all think.
