Gained this morning. It's only my second gain since the surgery but it was a whole pound! UGH! Boy do I feel dumb for complaining about it but you will notice that it doesn't stop me lol. Some days this really feels like cheating (having the surgery) and some days I feel like I took the hardest possible road to weight loss...can't quite make up my mind yet...but it's definitely one of those!! Yesterday was a full on food day and it was great! I keep telling myself not to burn out on the tuna but it was sooooooo good! And it is super easy for me to eat which is the part I really need help with. Just barely got in my 48 oz and so will continue to work on that. Today is hopefully going to be better than yesterday for walking...I got in 1.5 miles but then couldn't do anything else. Hopefully today will see me at 1.75 plus my other stuff. Got some dirt to push around out in the garden...I need those peas in today!! It still looks like a jungle in my backyard but...we're getting there!

Thanks guys, I know I'm okay...I just can't help but complain about the gain. I shouldn't, I've lost so much and 1 pound...that's a drop in the bucket. I started eating food again...this might happen again so I'll just have to take it in stride!

Fluctuations are normal for everyone. It's just harder for us to accept it because we are in a battle for our lives. We have berated ourselves for our failings for so long that we fall into the old pattern of believing that it must be our fault, that we did something wrong, that we always do something wrong, but not this time. Body weight varies from day to day no matter WHAT your physical condition is, from Olympic athletes to a 100 yr old monk. It's just the nature of our planet and it's inhabitants. If you see a long term pattern of consistent gains over a month, then you might want to think about any adjustments or corrections that need to be made, but one day does not a pattern make. For now, just keep doing what you are doing and be patient. There is no deadline so you can take as long as you need.

And it's not complaining, it's sharing.

Being mindful of all your emotions, the pleasant and the not so pleasant is so very important. This is YOUR journal for you to document your journey. By being aware of your emotional state you can start to see patterns, and once you see a pattern it is a LOT easier to deal with. You are you greatest science project. Collect your data, all of it including the emotional parts. It's all connected.

You're doing great! This is all new and you're being real about it all. Gardening is a good way to burn calories. Enjoy your day. 🌄
