Day 1 of a planned 4 days of ‘no solid food’ fasting

I ran 11 miles yesterday. I would have had a huge weight loss, but I then decided to have carbs. I went on a huge ‘carb binge’. My weight is not what it *will* be when I finally drink enough water to soak up all these carbs (sigh).

I plan to do another 11 mile run today. This will ‘help’ things, but, I do not feel I will be able to stop a gradual weight gain over the next few days.

Anyway, I HATE to fast on the weekends, but, I need to ‘balance out’ my excesses from yesterday. I simply cannot control my binging, but, I am ‘blessed’ to have the ability to ‘fast’.

@liv001 - Thanks! I tried to eat 'low carb' yesterday, but I was faced with a unexpected free box of donuts in front of my face and I decided to 'just take a peek in the box...". I then ended up eating the subway sandwich meal they provided later for lunch (and the chocolate chip cookie! and bag of potato chips!) I then proceeded to 'carb out' the entire day. ended up eating an --entire-- container of Haagen Dazs ice cream... So yeah, let's try 'fasting' today... Haha!

You are one of strictest guys up here. I notice you are still showing green. I can't imagine you getting lighter.

@Draglist - Strict? Did you see my 'blowup' yesterday? Hahaha! - - But, thanks :) Yeah, I am not dealing with normal 'weight' issues, I am just trying to get 'six pack abs' just *once* in my life. I turn 51 this year so I imagine it will be harder to achieve this goal if I continue to 'put it off'...

@Keilin_4 - Thanks! However, I suspect I will gain over the next three days even if I continue to 'no solid food fast'. I ran 22 miles this weekend and I suspect that there will be massive water retention from the 'inflammation' from the running. Let's see what happens...

@CrashtestDawnie - The truth is when you 'low carb' it you 'outperform' me even when I am not eating solid food (sigh). I spend a lot of time studying your macros and your carbs and protein are constantly 'level' for days at a time. You 'take a break' every few days, but then so do I. But, when you're *on* you're *killing it*.

@Keilin_4 - I jumped on the scale after my run and I was down to 166lbs (a 3lbs drop from this morning). I am drinking water like crazy because I-am-dyhydrated-right-now! 😜 I predict tomorrow morning I will be at least 171lbs (a 2lbs gain from this morning). I could be wrong, because I haven't 'no solid food' fasted on a Sunday in months...

I do have really good results with super low carbs, and can do it very easily but I’m kinda in a place where I don’t actually want to lose weight But lose fat. I need to somehow motivate myself to put as much dedication into working out as I do in sticking to my diet 😕 How do you do it??

@CrashtestDawnie - I love running. So I 'low carb' as much as I can and then do massive running. It seems to be working for me. So all the people who say that cardio doesn't work are apparently incorrect Haah! If I loved weightlifting I would probably be in the gym a lot and getting good results, but, I really do not enjoy it :( So I am down to like once a week (but on vacation I plan to lift weights a lot more, but when I get back it will be back to 1-2 days a week for only 30 minutes a day). Anyway, what do you *enjoy*? Perhaps just do that?

🤔 I love being in nature but I hate the heat and the sun drains me of all my energy so I don’t like being outside in Miami. I do love swimming and kayaking. It’s really hard to do that though. It requires an hour drive to the keys and about $50 😒 I plan trips to NC and Co every year to go hiking/ backpacking. Wish I could move 😩

@CrashtestDawnie - Yeah I can see how the gym may be best (cost/convenience). At home treadmill or exercise bike? Some people love them, some don't.

I use to have a treadmill years ago and it was great to have but I currently live in a shoebox 😕 I have to scoot my bed over just to lay down my yoga mat. I really just need to stop bitching and go to the gym! I went this morning! I’m going to try to go every other day for the next couple of weeks 😪
