That is quite a commitment to be running the day before the half marathon. Is this your first? If it is, my advice is to go slow and steady just as you ran in the practice runs leading up to the race. It is easy to push hard at the beginning and use up all your energy too soon. I did mine in 10s and 1s. I would run for 10 minutes and walk for 1 minute. I did this pattern all through my training. It really helped to pace myself. I crossed the finish line in good shape with a bit of 'gas' left in the tank. I did 6 half marathons over the years. I am not a speedy runner but a slow and steady one. I ended each race in the middle of the pack for my age and gender. Good luck to you!!

This will be my 3rd half, but 1st with the freedom to run at my own free will. The other 2 i ran with a friend who is generally 3min/mile slower than me.

My marathon time would probably be 5+ hours, but, when I am on mile 11 I honestly feel I could go another 15 :)

What's your 11 mile time??

I did 11.3 miles in 1:55:28 (10:13 pace) 1,383 calories :) I was running on the street so I was also dealing with a 264 foot elevation. One hill is so steep you feel like you will slide down it if you lose your footing.
