DATELINE Buffalo, NY Thursday 10:11 p.m.

I've been doing an extended trial of THE WIMP* diet. And what a trial it is...

I had to soap my ring fingers to get my rings on this morning.

My arthritic left knee, feet, and fingers ache. So, I limp like an old woman and (horror of horrors) I'd have to forgo chopsticks for a fork at The Manchurian House, one of favorite my WNY restaurants. (Fortunately, they're closed.)

My jaws hurt from being clenched in pain.

My swolt-up legs looked like tied-off sausages when I took my crew socks off this evening.

My feet look and feel like over-filled pink water balloons.

Tomorrow, we'll be meeting old friends for breakfast at the [No *Way* Am I Eating] Original Pancake[s] House. Then, we leave WNY for Oswego.

We don't drive home till Monday but I think my body has already suffered enough.

OKAY, OKAY! UNCLE!

I'm resuming 16:8 IF, starting NOW. LCHF (20g total carbs) starts Tuesday.

Good luck with the reboot! I have had to use soap to get my right off every night since my diet break as well. Still got a lot of body water going on.

I'm sorry it has been so rough for you lately. I think of you every day, and know I haven't been writing notes of support but they are in my heart, even though they haven't been going from my fingers to the keys on the computer. Ever since your car accident on March 18th it's been one thing after another. Your neck hurting, then her not having insurance, even having to deal with insurance companies. Yes, you were toying with temptation having even little amounts of sweets, and it finally caught up with you. I'm sorry it has caused you so much pain in your knee, feet, and fingers. It sounds absolutely miserable. You know it doesn't matter what the ADA says about eating more carbs. Your diabetes must be going wild, therefore your insulin. It is so hurting you, and there are so many people here on FS rooting for you. We all want your good well being. We not only want you to feel better, but we don't want you hurting yourself, short term and long term, because we care about you. Ignore the weight you have gained. Get back on track for health, feeling better, and lessening the pain. Those sweets make you so depressed, plus make the addiction unbearable. I know it's really hard. I don't know what it will take for you. I have played mind games in the past, sometimes giving up one thing at a time, or planning ahead, like New Years, to start over. You have lost fast in the past, and if you can follow LCHF and get down near 30g carbs it will probably be that way again. Remember, you found 20g carbs too hard in the past. Especially getting started back in the grove. Even being smaller and older, I lost my weight averaging maybe 30g to 35g a day as long as I gave up all sweets, grains, rice, and starchy carbs. It's those troublesome sweets that poison you. It sounds like you really will ignore your endocrinologist advice again and go back on IF 16/8 or close, now, and go back on LCHF Tuesday or soon. Consider the 30 or so carbs. If the carbs are really low, high levels of protein will just convert anyway. Be good to yourself. Just give up the sweets. They are death in a sweet package. At least for you and I. It's not only the pain and diabetes, it's cancer and dementia too. We just can't do what we did when we were young. Sorry to be so tough. No, I'm not slapping you up side the head. I'm hugging you and whispering the hard, loving things. Those tasty things just don't work for you. Sorry. Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy. ... Love, Snowy

Yes, @snowwhite100, great encouragement. It really shows how much you truly care about the friends you've made here by all the details you remember from Miraculum's Journal entries!

Oh wow! Yes it is time to get back on track! If you can stand it, I’d recommend a few days with less than 10 carbs to drop that water weight quickly to get some relief. Good luck 💪

M- put it in the past but dont forget how all of this made you feel physically. Tomorrow is a new day and brings with it a fresh start and a new committment.
