kingkeld's Journal, 14 November 2012

I still tend to feel "obligated" to journal. I don't like that feeling, and sometimes it makes me simply not wanna do it. Trouble is that for me it goes hand in hand with weighing in, so I NEED to.

I'll stick to my former plan of simply writing a little bit, getting a few thoughts out, and write more when I feel that I have something to get off my check.

I dropped another 400 grams since yesterday. I've been doing pretty good, and even if I didn't record ALL my food yesterday, I know I'm well within RDI. I can live with that.

I bought a little pedometer. I don't always get to 10,000 steps, but I'm fairly close. Usually, I get to 8-9,000 steps. I think that's pretty reasonable.

Today, I'm thankful for:
- the outlook of our computer systems working at work. They've been down for two days. :/
- Morning coffee. Oh, boy, do I need it.
- New phone = New toy! Yaaaay!

Happy hump day! Life is good!

I feel ya pal, i am getting tired of FS it seems. My recent absences make it moreso. However I think its key to my recent lifestyle changes.

Oh, it's absolutely key. For me, I have so many things I'd like to do, I work, teach, play music, have a social life, family etc. I really enjoy my mornings before work and do so many things, and these days FatSecret journaling is just not the top of my emotional priority list. However, I really need/want to do SOMETHING, and doing shorter journals and weigh-ins work for me right now. If I don't journal, I don't weigh in. It's a slippery slide that I don't want to ride.

I am with you Keld. I have been slacking too (journaling here I mean), but now I get my good old trusted diary out & jot at least a few thougts down, sometimes more. Its easier in a way ;) As long a you stay on track, remember your goal! Enjoy your new toy :)

I always have things in my head to jounaling and I know adding it to my routine would make a huge difference...but alas they never make it to paper. It does seem like a "chore" more than an outlet or pleasure, but so did cutting up all thoes veggies or cooking instead of fast food. Might be time!! Thank you though, Kingkeld for doing it as regular as you have I do love reading them and getting inspired!

Great job on the pedometer, Keld. You'll love it. I love mine. I also have bee slacking in the journaling department. But you're doing great, staying on track. Keep up the great work.

I started this journey with my best friend oessie, but when she hit her target-weight i kinda lost her as a buddy... I have had lots of inspiration from you in the last year kingkeld, but if it is time for you to move on, it is time, dont feel obligated to come here and support us, we will move on, though i will miss you and it will be harder without you ;) greetz maud.

Seems to be the thoughts of many people on here. Perhaps its the time of year

Since I have trouble keeping going, it's definitely NOT the time to move on. It's time to USE THE DAMN WEBSITE! Essentially, I write this journal for one person - me. I am completely stoked that so many use it for guidance and inspiration, and I'm honestly sorry that I don't inspire a whole lot these days. But essentially, I do write this for me. I clear my head here. I work out my issues. It works. It keeps me dedicated. At least, it did. I need that groove, and I would think that stopping here would simply make me misbehave even more. :( It's much more vital for me to get on track than to move on.

I'm on the struggle bus right now too and just decided today to get back to serious food/exercise logging and re-committing since I've slipped a little bit. Glad you are still going to use these tools we have..

I completely understand... I don't feel i WANT to journal (although I have started to again). It's almost like a rebellion... I don't want to feel NEED to anymore.. BUT I know I do need to. Just do 'little' journals until you feel you can relax a little. You are a bit like me... In that you want to keep contact with your 'old faithfuls'. And help others that are struggling. We need to keep strong, and keep motivated to keep on track, THAT is the reason to keep journalling and logging into this site :-)

I've had a tough time also since my tonsillectomy back in May. Weight just started creeping up. But I hid from it and pretended it wasn't happening. You should be so proud of yourself that you're hanging in there and not giving up. I'm mortified every time I post that my weight has gone in the wrong direction, so I look at your weight history and I think about how much strength and courage it takes to publicise that. I'm proud to have you as my buddy and to have you as inspiration!

...who says I'm not mortified? :) I just need to record it, or NOTHING will happen. Which reminds me... why haven't I? Well, tomorrow. I hope.

what always helps for me, is to read the fisrt few entries of my journal, it gives me an idear of the state of mind i was in then, first it shocks me, i don't want to get back to that, second i read the resolve it took then to get started, and finally i realize i need the same state of mind and resolve each and every day to keep on this track... maybe that helps for you??? keep going buddy!!! don't gain weight - GAIN LIFE!!!
