Day 1 of a planned 2 days of ‘water’ fasting

Yesterday I 🏃🏾‍♂️ ran 7 miles after 🏋🏾‍♂️ lifting weights (and lifting my maximum). I was really tired before I started my run, and I was really tired and sore afterwards.

However, for me, this is required to *only* gain 1 pound after scarfing down 130 carbs and 2k in calories. That ‘mythical’ “weight loss will occur with a calorie deficit” *never* works for me. My body will gain weight, both water and fat based on how much carbs and protein (excess protein is converted to glucose) I consume.

My exercise, that depletes my glucose and glycogen levels, (and the associated water required to store the glycogen), only slows down that weight gain.

Without the running, I would be up 3 pounds (167lbs>170lbs) like I was last weekend, when my calorie -deficit- (yes I said *calorie deficit*) was only 376, because I didn't run, as opposed to this weekend where the calorie deficit was 1401.

Over the last 5 days I have had a 4k calorie ‘deficit’ yet, I have gained 2 pounds in the past two days, even though I ran 14 miles in the past two days.

Now, I will *burn* calories based on my physical exertion, and simply staying alive and breathing an entire day (see: Where fat goes when you lose weight: https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/26/health/lose-weight-where-does-it-go-partner/index.html http:// https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/26/health/lose-weight-where-does-it-go-partner/index.html), but my exercise cannot undo a continual weight gain even when my calculations show that I ‘burned’ 2700 calories yesterday and ‘only consumed’ 2000 calories.

So, today and tomorrow I will fast. Ok, this is what I *plan to do*. If I feel different for any reason I will switch back to my normal ‘no solid food’ fast (where I actually consume about 1k in calories by drinking protein shakes in heavy cream).

The key thing for me will be to 🏃🏾‍♂️ run each day and 🚶🏾‍♂️ walk a lot. When I reduce my carbs (and protein!) and then 👟 exercise, it really -makes the scale move-

Calorie wise, I am only reducing my calories by 2k over my normal 'no solid food fast' but, my past experience has shown that this will actually drop pounds that will stay off, providing a 'net loss', even when I start eating again on the weekend.

😎 Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!
