Herbie's Journal, 19 June 2008

Sorry to have been a stranger this week. I'm off of my usual schedule this week --in a transition between the school year and summer-- so I've been trying to figure out a good strategy for dealing with meals and exercise, etc. I have done ok on the diet and my calories, I think, but my motivation certainly waxes and wanes during the week. Overall my weight is staying steady, which is to be expected.

We are taking the kids camping at New River Gorge in W.V. this weekend. Have any of you been there? It's a beautiful place. My husband and I used to go rock climbing there years ago and it's been fun to plan our trip this weekend. Our kids are still quite young: only 3 and 6 yrs old. So, we won't be doing a lot of climbing on this trip, mostly just enjoying the great outdoors. I'm sure that there will be little things (like, how can I brush my teeth with no sink?) that will seem strange to my 3 yr old. We have tried to anticipate what those might be, but it's always hard to tell with her. She does think the tent is the coolest thing ever, so that's a plus. :) My older daughter is looking forward to the trip quite a bit. Hell, I'm just glad to be able to fit into my rock climbing harness from years ago! LOL

129.0 lb Lost so far: 41.0 lb.    Still to go: 0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.
