Hey Everyone,

I have been going up and down now for months and can't seems to catch a rhythm for healthy habits. I know that they say it takes 21 days to form a habit and I am just not lasting that long.

SO.....I have decided to do the master cleanse. I am going to start out with 10 days and when I complete that I will decide if I would like to continue. I have never fasted before so I am not sure that I can do it, but I am going to try. Today is day one at right now I am not hungry but I am only through half the day. I will come on the site every day to talk about my progress. If you have gone through this before or just want to know about it please feel free to ask.

WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT ARE MORE THE WELCOME!! I'm going to need them.

Thank you so much!

What is the Master Cleanse?

So Master Cleanse is a fasting cleanse then? I haven't ever done that one but I did do the Dual-Action Cleanse which can be typically found out Costco/Walmart and all other retailers/drugstores. It helps to flush out toxins etc through softening * increasing your bowels and is typically done for 7 days. Its not a terribly dramatic route and one I would recommend if you find that the Master Cleanse is not right for you. Also, have you ever tried Weight Watchers? I never did the meetings because that wasnt something that would keep me motivated, but I did weigh myself on the same day ever week and I purchased the starter kit from the Weight Watchers website, which consisted of: points calculator for on-the-go, points finder chart, Complete Food Companion, Dining Out Companion (which has the points for average items at most restaurants, and a Getting Started guide that tells you how many points you should take in per weight category and ways to gain extra points via exercise. The only reason I mentioned this because I felt it was easier to count points based off of calories and dietary fiber than just calories alone and much easier than do a dramatic food change. This way teaches you portion control and is something you can do without restricting yourself to only certain foods. The SMART ONES and LEAN CUISINEs already have the points on them too, so it makes it easy to count. AND the higher the dietary fiber in an time, such as KASHI food items, the less points even if the calories are higher. I found it very effective and easy to stick with you and lost 20lbs in 2months. I hope I was helpful, and whatever you decide to do, you'll be successful!

I am sorry that I just noticed that your profile does say you're on the weight watchers diet. What about it are you struggling with? I might be able to lend more support or advice if I know your problem areas. You should be limiting yourself to 26 daily points, right? Most days, if I ate the right things in the morning that filled me up but were under 5 or 6 pts and had small filling snacks like a Yoplait Light yogurt (2pts) then I could keep myself under my daily balance.

Please be careful with the Master Cleanse. It works and is awesome, but you need to make sure you are drinking lots of fluids, and are careful when you come out of it because your body is in a delicate state. It is hard but it also is cool. I went 6 days, by the 4th day my hair and skin felt amazing, SO CLEAN and soft, but by the sixth day I'd had enough. I did not have enough fluids while I was on it and did not ease myself back into food by eating simple healthy foods first (high water content foods, like fruits and vegetables are best) and ended up with a serious bladder infection. SO please be careful and make sure you are flushing your body out well!!

@bkcabrera - I am not on weight watchers anymore. In fact I have not been doing anything which it the main problem, but I did love it and it did work for me. I will probably start that again when I get off the cleanse. Thank you. @ pisces19 Thank you for the encouragement I appreciate it. As far as the coming of the cleanse goes, I plan to follow the instructions. Thanks a lot

The master cleanse is also knows as the lemonade diet where you drink a lemonade concoction for a minimum of 10 days. It's purpose is to eliminate the body of toxins and secondarily it can help you lose weight.
