Day 1 of a planned 2 days of β€˜water fasting’
Blood sugar 98 mg/dL

Yesterday I ate *EPIC proportions of food*. I had a blast. I’m good for the rest of the month 😊

I know my journal is constantly filled with bitching and moaning so it may appear that all my fasting is not actually working. It *is working* 😊

It allows me to continue lifting weights without getting fat (What Every Weightlifter Should Know About Glycogen) 😊

I need glycogen in my muscles to lift heavy, and the way I get that glycogen *in* my muscles is to consume carbs. For an insulin resistant person such as myself, consuming a ton of carbs will make me fat (note: I have 9 months of solid data posted on this site, plus my results from yesterday, to back this up).

So, I β€˜water fast’ and β€˜no solid food fast’ to *balance out* the gains and to allow myself to continue to lift weights. Yesterday, I was able to hit the WEIGHTS and πŸ‹πŸΎ lift heavy 😊

Now, I start the fast again 😊

@liv001 - Thank you for the kind words! I will admit that the shot is a bit 'blurry' so it makes me 'look' a bit better than the other shots that were 'clearer' Haha! Also, I left my shirt on because I'm 10 pounds above my BMI weight and my 'abs have gone into hiding' :)

@Keilin_4 - Yeah, without my current lifestyle I would be very obese. Since I turned 50 years old, loosing weight and gaining muscle have gotten WAY harder. I wish I had adopted this lifestyle back when I was in my 30's... oh well :)

@kaylinrenee - Look back on my journals from 9 months ago. They attacked me so hard there would be nearly 100 'comments' on my posts. However, I was 49 years old, about to turn 50 years old, so my 'Motivation' was very strong. I DID NOT want to continue to be fat all my life. I was inspired by guys like @Phil who showed that the way you deal with 'bullying behavior' is to simply stand up to it. So, I simply told them that I would be an F'ING IDIOT to listen to them :) - - Now that I have --RESULTS-- they know I am 'laughing' at anything they say to me :) - - In the end, it is up to *us* (the person being criticized) to not listen to this TOTALLY POINTLESS criticism of our eating choices. So, ultimately it is on us... Also, I have been motivated to help others like me. At te CORE of all this is that 90%= of te people like me will NOT lose weight and will die an early death. Period. If I can help some of them, this is what I must do. But, I can only help them by showing them results. Proof, FACTS not OPINIONS. Good Luck!

Wow!!! Amazing!!!! I totally get what you do. As a woman who went 50 came, carbs killed me. Every holiday season I give in and end up going up 5-7 lbs. The bullies, you just have to ignore. I have seen them attack, for as many years as I am on here. Need to get into a fasting mode one of these days soon.
