Dry Fast Day #2
First day of my fast passed easily, just a light headache in the afternoon. I have a couple of waves of hunger but nothing unbearable and they usually last for few seconds.
Today I don't have headache so far and no thirst yet.
Happy Sunday everyone! 😊

what type of fast? is it IF?

yes, im wondering the same.. what kind of fasting are we talking about? i noticed you seem to do it a lot... i fast occasionally for religious purposes but never for weight loss (because it doesn't work for weight loss.. it puts your body into starvation mode, so that when you do eventually put food in you your bosy stores every bit of it possible so that there's something to feed on if a starvation aituation arises again...cuz it doesn't know that you're doing it on purpose, and assumes that nature is just not providing enough food sources) ..fasting is pointless for weight loss.

Sounds good. How many days are you planning to do_ (for you doubters maybe check out Jason Fung's books)

I read Jason Fung book the obesity code and many other books about fasting. Fasting does not put you in starvation, our bodies are smart enough to kick in autophagy and start to eat stored fat (that is why it stores fat in the first place). I do different fasts, this time around I'm starting with Dry Fast (no food no water), until my body tells me to stop. It usually is around day 4/5. Then I will continue with salt water fast. No food only water with electrolytes. Aiming for 40 days but I will listen to my body day by day. Good luck everyone with your journey. Everyone is different and what works for one does not necessarily works/suits for someone else 😉

Yeah im not buying it. A 40 day fast? What are you, Jesus? Have you talked to an actual doctor about this? I cant imagine them condoning not eating anything for 40 days. It isnt healthy...it's anorexia.

Queen, it only goes into starvation mode if your body doesn't have the fat reserves to use. Same with the myths about losing muscle. Fat burns first. I do recommend using keto stix when long term fasting. they will give you a pretty good sense if you are going too far. I do like IF better though. I think its something more easily maintainable than long term complete food fasting. and not nearly as painful to enter and exit.

Hi Tenax, I do use Ketostix, almost every day, I also check my blood pressure and my blood glucose regularly. I do IF often but sometimes I feel the need to detox from lot of junk food I ingest (due to occasions, dinner invitation, holidays events and so on). It is impossible for me to keep a super clean diet 365 days a year, so here and there I like to fast for prolonged days. I love love the mental clarity at day 6/7, something that everyone at least once should experience in life. Happy journey everyone. Also I know that there's still a lot of lack of information around fasting, but soon everyone will know how many health benefits comes from not eating!
