Lucybell33's Journal, 11 May 2008

I'm up over 1/2 pound this morning - ouch! No explanation - stuck to it 100% yesterday, even earning a few extra calories (half of which I cashed in for some wine!) by spending over 3 hours weeding and planting in our back garden. We replanted our retaining walls with Busy Lizzies and sorted out the "shady" side of the garden. I'm really pleased with the way it's looking now:

Today's project is the even more overgrown, sunny side of the garden. I don't think we'll get that finished today, but it would be good to get started on it!

Have a beautiful Sunday!! Happy Mother's Day to those of you celebrating it today! (Ours was way back on March, so it's just a regular Sunday here.)

One small tip....don't weigh yourself everyday. Weigh fluctuates daily. Once a week will give you a better outlook on your weigh loss and keep you from worrying about normal daily fluctuations. :)

WOW...! Beautiful garden....! I can only hope mine will look as wonderful when I'm finished...! Given that I started with a *forest* - it may take some time! Don't worry about the 1/2 pound darlin'... it'll be gone in the morning, I'd bet...! You are an inspiration..! huggggggs and have a GREAT Sunday!

Aw, your garden is looking beautiful and puts us to shame at the moment, as we really need to get out and do ours! Hope you have fun today starting the other bit... it's just great to be outside in the nice weather isn't it, so I hope you're having another sunny day. Thank you for your lovely comments on my journal and I was delighted you could see some muscles. :o) The wonders of Dyna-Band have a lot to answer for that one, but it's so nice to be developing some tone! Well, we all know the scales play games and so I'm sure that little hike is only temporary and will be back down again shortly. You have had an amazing week and deserved that wine, especially with all that planting! I'll send you another Happy Mother's Day though... we can pretend we get a 2nd one in the UK... have a great day though and enjoy our lovely weather. :o)

Pretty garden there!! I'm working on my land-scaping out front... I'm also trying to transport a rose bush, lol... we'll see how that turns out. Don't worry about that half pound, it could just be water!! lol, that's what I'd blame it on anyway!!

I love your garden! Very beautiful! As for the slight weight gain, you'll have that off and then some before we blink.

What a beautiful yard and garden! I hope there is a nice chair or bench just out of sight of the camera for you to sit and admire it! Don't fret about the mysterious gain. All will even out. You are doing SO well!

Love it! I'm so jealous! I'm going to get out and start doing what I can without hurting... I'm just itching! I can't wait to get the garden and all GROWING! My flower bed is a wreck and will take some real work to clean it up. Keep up the great work!

Lovely garden! I'm sure the 'gain' on the scale is just water. Silly bodies, always playing tricks on us!

Thank you all for your comments and compliments!! I'm not worried about the gain - I've seen this before when I've had a big calorie deficit. I know it will be gone and some before long! daduck - thanks for your tip, but I'm honestly OK with seeing the fluctuations. I won't even admit to you how often I actually weigh myself, but let's just say it's no less than twice a day! I find weighing myself regularly really helps keep me focused. It doesn't work for everyone, but I'm happy with it! :)

I bet the weight gain is due to muscle you're building, and possibly water retention (the sugar in the wine could do it too...), but all of these reasons are creating only a temporary weight gain--nothing to "sweat" over! You know that! Good luck...and keep up the great work..the garden's looking good!

Your garden is GORGEOUS! I am so happy for you! You have come such a long way & you must be proud of yourself! GREAT chart! You sound happy, too! Wonderful!

Your garden is so lovely! I can tell you have put a lot of effort into that to make it grow. That made me think of a metaphor to your weight loss...that just didn't happen- you had to work at it and you made it was it is today! You really have come far. Don't fret over a tiny gain as flucuations do happen. Go with the once a week to record true loss or gains.

Wow, how pretty! I wish I had a garden like that! Your eyes do look a lot better; are you happy with the results thus far?

Thanks guys! Alaina - I am really starting to see a big improvement in my eyes now, and I'm getting pretty excited about the final results! I must admit, there were a couple of days last week when I was thinking, what have I done??, but I'm much happier this week, and I know I'm going to be glad I went for it!! :)
