Day 3 of a planned 5 day ‘no solid food’ fast
Blood sugar 105 mg/dL

38 pushups 2019 PUSH UP Challenge!

2019 PUSH UP Challenge (Overall leaderboard)

📉 My data seems to show, that when “No Solid Food” fasting, when I wake up with a high fasted blood sugar level, I lose weight. I don’t know why this is happening. I suspect the massive amounts of protein powder I consume all day and right before bed may be the cause. By the second day, all I have in my body is protein powder, heavy cream, and water. I usually start dropping 1-2 pounds a day… and my blood sugar rises.

📅 Anyway, I am re-thinking my plans for the weekend. I may avoid eating at the dinner party on Saturday because it is not a sit down dinner, but rather a ‘grab a plate and find somewhere to sit down’. I can actually avoid eating and no one will notice. On Sunday, the host previously served an 8 course meal that caused me to gain 5 pounds! I may have to save all my calories for that one…

😎 Life is Good! Have a great day everyone!

did you work out that day too? glucose can raise when the body dumps the excess to fuel the body functions. it is very difficult to track the difference between higher glucose readings from food/protein, verus the temporary higher reading from dumping. same with my ketone tracking, they can go down to practically nothing and bounce right back up. when you check things hourly you see a lot of stuff. good luck figuring it out! but I am glad you are on the right track for your goals

I always seem to eat more during those “mingle” type parties. Whatever the case enjoy your time with your friends. It is the holidays after all! And 38!! Push ups! 👍💪💪💪

I also can not emagine what an eight course meal would be like but I might be putting myself through that right now. I’m at restaurant stop #4! LOL

@CrashtestDawnie - If I allow myself 'one bite' to eat at the party I am done. I have NO self control. However, if I say "no, not one bite" I will be ok :) - - So the sit-down 8 course meal will result in 3-5 pounds. 2-3 is just water that will go away, but the last two could be pure fat because I CAN consume 5,000+ calories in a single day 😢

@nikeit - Thanks! I am sure that I will have to hold at 40 pushups for the rest of the month (when I get there). I am -barely- making it now...

I am the same. If i start nibbling, i just keep on going. Easier to just skip the food altogether. You are awe-inspiring with the pushups, adef!
