Day 1 of a planned 5 day ‘no solid food’ fast
Blood sugar 95 mg/dL

Don't know why I lost weight after consuming a lot of calories and carbs yesterday. I suspect that I was probably due a two pound drop from my previous two days of 'no solid food' fasting and weightlifting and running. I also lifted weights yesterday. So my 'binge' yesterday probably just cut into that loss.

I also know that I have never NOT GAINED weight when I 'binge' for more than one day.

So, back to the normal 5 day 'no solid food fast'. I plan to eat Friday night to Sunday. On Saturday I plan to try eating only steak all day. The hope is that I can lose 3-4 pounds during the week, but gain back less than 2 pounds on the weekend. This would give me a net loss of 2 pounds for the week.

@baskington - When I do the experiment on Saturday I will try to do it without the protein drink because it has carbs and I suspect that 'may' be the problem. However I may 'crack' and do the steak and the protein drinks.

@Keilin_4 - Thanks :) I had two days in October that I was able to eat and still lose weight, but, I was only eating one day at a time. The real problem was that on the second day, rather than just gaining say 2 pounds I always gained at least 4!

yes it is hard, but maybe just endulge in coffee and heavy cream at least for breakfast if you are having steak for breakfast you definitely don't want to overload on the protein and push your glucose too high. I know you are sensitive to it like I am. funny thing I read, did you know that coffee and sweetener can actually cause your glucose to lower temporarily over the longer term?? I was reading on the keto site that is very strict that the moderator does this on occasion. he is testing things. I never thought to test fasting before coffee and then an hour after coffee and then 2 and 3 hours after coffee. eventually I may have to try this.

@nikeit - Yeah being back to 'what I'm used to' feels safe and comforting. The 'bulking' and 'cutting' process is tiring 'mentally'. Basically taking a mental break until Christmas (I know you are too). I have a LOT of time off over Christmas and New Year's and I know I will gain weight.

@baskington - Sounds good. If it doesn't go well I can keep trying different ways :) I would REALLY like my coffee with cream. I have this every morning right now.

I bet that bulking and cutting is mentally exhausting - enjoy your break and we will both get back to the grind after the holidays - hopefully without too much gain ;)

The body does weird things.. I lost after eating +5k calories a while back..
