😎 Yet another day of not gaining 10lbs. It appears to me that the following have prevented a repeat of gaining 10lbs the last time I consumed over 500 carbs in a single week...

πŸ“… I did not consume high amounts of carbs 'in a row' (I tried to fast to drop the carbs as much as I could the following day).
πŸƒπŸΎ πŸ‹πŸΎ I ran and worked out as much as I could on the day of high carb consumption and the day afterwards.

So, good to know! My Journals help me, because in my world, everything does not go as planned...

🌟In my world I --stress eat-- when family goes to the hospital
🌟In my world I 'try' to eat healthy foods but 'fail' at this constantly

Why???

πŸ’₯ I cannot control my eating. I have simply stopped trying. Not starting to eat is the only thing that seems to work, so on most days I am going to go with that.

πŸ’₯ I crave bad food and WILL eat it. I know there are foods that are not good for me, but, I WILL eat them. I will 'take the hit'. This gives me something to think about when I am running 5 miles to lose the 3lbs I gained from the previous days poor decisions

And mostly:

πŸ’₯ I cannot 'control my weight'. Yes 'fasting' can get the needle on the scale 'moving' but some days it goes zooming in the wrong direction. All I can do is 'try' and then be 'grateful'.

πŸ§˜πŸΎβ€β™‚οΈ I did try to lose weight the way others suggest, but I-couldn't-do-it. I have been obese all my adult life and stayed that way. After, I accepted my flaws, I could then come up with a program that works within them and get results.

.. and I am getting good results, at 50 years old I can squat 180lbs and can run 5 miles in 50 minutes.

@nikeit - Thanks! With all the travelling I knew I 'would take a hit'. Obviously we always try to 'minimize the damage'. Listening to a podcast recently by Dr. Jason Fung really helped me because he stressed that it was 'giving your insulin time to fall' was the important thing. The IF (Intermediate Fasting) is the 'big thing' probably more important than the Keto. The movie 'Fasting" https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/B07DPVLQ1R/ basically shows that IF with no other changes has the greatest impact. Anyway, today is the last day I will be faced with large amounts of food. Starting Monday I can get back to my 'routine'.

Well THAT'S great to hear because I am all about IF and no way am I giving up carbs doing keto - just not for me - but everybody needs to find exactly what works for their unique body and as always calories in better be lower than calories out to lose anything! Great job getting through the week without a lot of stress about it all - enjoy your routine this week!!

@nikeit - The reason I feel that IF *is* the most important thing is that, again, looking at my numbers over the past 6 months, I went from 210lbs to 179lbs (31 lbs today - 3.4 lbs per week) in a 9 week period by consuming very little during the day. The calories were about the same as they are today... The *problem* is that I get *bored* during the day. -eating- is what I do when 'bored'... (sigh)

Oh, I know ALL about that! Bored eating is a favorite pastime of mine - IF kinda' broke me away from that mindset! All hail IF...lol

I believe IF helped me lose weight and keto helped me stick to IF and stay away from carbs. IF while eating carbs sux! But is still doable. I hope your week of fat bombs turns out well. It’s actually a really good idea. Not enough protein or carbs to raise insulin. πŸ‘ ps I ate 333 carbs today 😳🀣☠️

@CrashtestDawnie - It's ok, I basically did 300 carbs last Wednesday and kept it to only a 2 pound gain. Sometimes we gotta do what we gotta do... But, starting Monday I 'plan' to have my 'normal' schedule. However, my Mother is in the hospital so no promises...

Thank you everyone. Ironically more family medical issues with other family members popped up. It has gotten so chaotic I haven't done any 'stress eating' because there is nothing I can possibly think of to eat that would-get-the-job-done (make me 'feel' different). So I am just putting one foot in front of the other at this point. However, I may hit the protein mix that is sitting on my desk at work when my fat bombs are gone...
