Day 1 of a planned 5 day 'no solid food fast'

Blood sugar 89 mg/dL

👶🏾 Not surprised the scale went up a bit...

👎🏾 Did I keep my net carbs below 10? No, Not even close
👎🏾 Did I keep my protein below 90g? No, Not even close
👎🏾 Is my morning blood sugar in the 70s? No, Not even close

I found out the computer framework, that is the basis of a presentation I have to give next week, was updated to completely change the interfaces, middleware configuration, basically a total rewrite of all my code examples. This set me off into a stressful eating binge. Calories were highest ever, but I kept the net carbs to only 44.

🌊 Also, there is water weight because, again, I had 6,000mg+ of sodium with the Soy Sauce I added to the Cauliflower Rice we had for dinner (but, it was yum!).

Anyway, the plan today...

🥛 No morning Protein Coffee, just a 5 Hour energy drink
🏃🏾 5 Mile run before work
🌊 Only Green Tea during the day
🥛 One protein shake an night

My goal is to get to 163lbs on this current 'cut' then go back to OMAD (One Meal A Day).

for a binge that was a pretty good one and much easier for you to drop the extra carbs much faster. without the cookie and the atkins candies you would have been highr than you wanted, but definitely within ketosis range. after your planned fast today that should all be gone. I would not worry about the calories at all. with all your fasting it will just help you fuel your next workout. that is a pretty great improvement from the "carbing weekends" definitely you will make some serious progress this week!

@chrisw77 - Thanks! As I was pouring the Soy Sauce I was thinking... "You KNOW what this is going to do..." :) No more Soy Sauce planned for at LEAST 7 days.

I did systems design and coding for over 10 years and I hated it when crap like that happened - sorry you have to deal with it - hope you can fix everything for your presentation without too much hassle. Glad you liked the cauliflower rice at least :) Good luck with your plan today!!

@nikeit - Thank your for understanding, I need it! :) I basically gave this same presentation a month ago and thought I would just have to update some names spaces and methods... But, someone-decided-to-refactor-everything! I will be up at least 2 hours every night to find the time to fix all this. THAT is *not* good for my diet. Good thing I am on a fast, but, I tend to start hitting the protein drinks hard...

you just need to be strong Adef, you are learning a lot of control with all the work you have been doing. and if you need to eat a bit at least you are eating low carb. less damage. Hold strong!

I agree. And I know not sticking to plan is frustrating but you have come a long way since we started following each other! That stress binge ain’t nothin! You will do better next time!

It's 11:00pm I'm headed to bed. I managed not to eat anything, but, I did have 3 scoops of protein powder. This is why I fast. Only a fast kept me from eating 200 carbs tonight...
