My goodness gracious ... the excitement just never ends!! We've had quite an adventure since our generator pooped out on us. We have this old Makita generator as a back-up. Well it just wasn't charging up the batteries. Twice we ran completely out of electricity. Yesterday we ran it for probably 8 hours or more and still the batteries weren't charged up. It was acting real funny. Bob would start it and it would begin to run and then die. Over and over and over again. Finally, towards the evening when he couldn't get it started again he called our friend who is going to do the work on our Onan generator. Long story shortened a little, it just isn't doing the trick so he loaned us one of his generators and while life isn't completely 'normal' it is better than having no electricity.

The good news is since we were trying to be very careful not to use any electricity while we were trying to charge yesterday I got some not so fun chores done that I probably wouldn't not have done if I had been able to veg out in front of a movie or be on the computer. We burned a bunch of stuff, I cut a bunch of sucker trees/weeds down, cleaned off the back porch, the top of the refrigerator, and tidied up the apartment connected to our house that is really a storage area for us. Today we hauled a bunch of stuff to the dump. And we played Monopoly. I got skunked royally.

Our generator may be back to us by Friday. There is a possibility we may have a problem with our batteries and/or inverter. I sure hope not. To replace those would cost close to three grand ... we sure don't have that right now!! I'm keeping my fingers crossed!!

Amazingly so my eating has been in control. Not sure how that has happened. I'm not as low as I would like to be but I am certainly in an acceptable range. We had one day with no rain, yesterday. It was nice to be outside, burning stuff. The ground is very, very wet which is good for burning!! Silly me, I'm out there in my house slippers which by the time I was done were completely soaked!! I have no clue why I didn't come in and put on proper shoes. The rain is back today. Rumor has it we may have a couple of decent days on Monday and Tuesday before the next storm system moves in ... time will tell.

The other interesting thing is that my stepdaughter messaged me on facebook a few days ago. We've had no contact with her for a very long time. It is a long, long story and I won't bore you with the details. Of course a lot has gone on over the years including the death of her grandfather recently. I encouraged her to read back in on facebook to catch up. I'm not sure if I am glad she is reaching out or not. We have had a rocky road with her. Of course she may not be happy to learn the family news we've had these last few years and perhaps angry that I didn't call her. But ... I didn't know her phone number. Oh well ... can't please all of the people all of the time.

So ... the borrowed generator is running which is why I am gracing you all with my presence!!! I'm enjoying some freshly brewed coffee with fat free caramel machiatto creamer ... YUM!!! It is chilly enough in the house we started a fire in the wood stove. Keep your fingers crossed that nothing else breaks at our house. Enough is enough is enough I say!! Like that makes a difference. Things are what they are ... and we'll slug our way through it one way or another I suppose. That said though, I would really enjoy a little break in the action!! I hope you all have had a good weekend ... think I'll wander around here and see what some of you have been up to!! Take care!!

Hi Moose! What about plugging your elliptical on a battery or something, then you would create power while exercising... Ok, bad joke. When those things happen we realize how much we depend on electricity in our lives. But we also realize we can have fun without, and playing board games is so much fun. Last time it happened at home I played dices with my boyfriend, we had a great time. But I hope your generator will be fixed soon and for a reasonable price and you can spend more time on FS! About your dog, what do you think bit him when you were in Mexico? Was it a coyote for sure? Have a great monday!

Friday seems quite a ways off but I'm sure you will manage. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you won't have to pay the three grand moose, that would be pretty significant. Good Luck buddy!
