Day 6 of a planned 5 day 'no solid food fast'

Blood sugar 80 mg/dL

🧘🏾‍♂️ This fast is going so well I decided to extend it an extra day 😎 (actually a half-day).

I had hoped for another 2 pound loss but I am not surprised that the loss has 'slowed'. Still, 9 pounds in 6 days is more than I could hope for. Low carb plus a lot of exercise gets the scale moving for me.

🍽️ The challenge will be getting through a three day weekend without going overboard by eating too many carbs. I do plan to either run or lift weights each day.

The fast will restart Tuesday.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Kinda jelly that your daily loss is my weekly loss, but I'll take it! No mac and cheese at your mom's house today!

Great job with the massive loss—shows how much water our bodies hang on to with carbs. Men always seem to lose faster than us women princessvalerie! It’s so not fair haha!

@princessvalerie - Yeah mac and cheese would probably 'set me off' on a 'craving'....

@momma6224 - Thanks! I don't know how long it will take to burn the fat to get down to 160 now the easy water weight is off...

Keep the good work you can do it It did work for me too

@baskington - It is just hard to tell :) When I get down to 160lbs, we will see what things look like. Right now, the belly is the only fat I can 'see' right now. I think this is the 'visceral fat' below the surface, and it is FINALLY time for it to go away :)

well I hope so, keto and fasting will help with that, I don't know what carbing will do on you. I know it loads up on me. Interesting issue.

@baskington - My number one goal is to lift 'really heavy weights'. I can squat 110lbs now, I feel I need to squat 200lbs+. Right now I seem to be able to lift 110lbs each time. I try to lift 120lbs and my body just can't do it. However, when I am 'carbed up' I can always lift 'more' than I lifted last time (this is how I was able to go from 80lbs to 110lbs). I believe that it is because I am able to tap into the glycogen stored in my muscle tissue when I am 'carbed up'. When I am 'fasted' I belive that the glycogen in my muscle tissue is 'depleted' and that my body must manufacture glycogen from fat. Really great for weight loss but really bad for trying to lift really heavy weights :) It seems that my body will only provide my muscle tissue 'just enough' to function, but not enough to 'increase'. This is just my theory, but it is what has proven to be true this past two months. Basically, when I 'carb up' I can lift more.
