Water fast day 4 whoohoo. i was a bit hungry yesterday but not fatigued or tired at all. clear headed and good energy. they say hunger goes away after day 4. I'm in some FB groups where people fast 60+ days. wow. i love not doing dishes and feeling good. i thought i was nuts , doing this but it's WORKING. I'm so sick of being fat and feeling like crap. I finally started feeling good when i went carnivore, now I'll feel better losing the extra fat.
182.0 lb Lost so far: 48.0 lb.    Still to go: 67.0 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

WOW! Congratulations! No matter what happens now, no matter what you decide to do, this experience belongs to *you*. No one can tell you what works for you or what you can do. For me, day 3+ is a 'special' place physically, mentally, and spiritually. I plan to get back there this coming Wednesday...

I'm amazed and impressed by you! I've tried fasting and I get so shaky, cranky, and depressed. Does that pass? I've never gone over a day. Also, how do you handle the people who worry about you and think you're developing an eating disorder?

sunniedillard, i looked at the food you eat and don't think (i didn't look at your carbintake) your not strict keto which could be reason why you felt bad starting a fast. i was already KETO, doing intermittent fasting, trying only to do a 4 hour eating window and i was already fat adapted before going to fast. I went from keto 20 carbs, to only meat, zero carbs, felt great but wasn't losing like i should have and was frustrated . I have ALWAYS supplemented with at least 2t lite salt which has potassium and sodium and add magnesium a few times a day to replenish lost electrolites, which is a big reason people feel like crap on keto or fasting. Eating disorder lol. I hear ya, but no one to judge me but myself.

Adefwebwerver THANK YOU for the support. So today is day 4 and still pretty hungry all the time. I wonder if it will take me longer to lose my hunger signals since i think they were off in the first place. I've always been hungery even when full. I wonder if this will reset that hunger signals to a normal?

Ps sunniedillard when i stated keto, when i got hungry i ate! I had a steak, cheese etc, i ate a lot at first! I didn't gain, but i also didn't lose, but it was better than eating carbs and feeling worse and getting carb cravings, those are now gone and i was a carb O holic, also alcohol will stimulate food cravings for me, no alcohol for me now. Maybe after i get to a healthy weight.

Oh, I'm far from trying a keto diet. I'm the queen of carbs. I'm the first to admit I eat way too much sugar, which is what I attribute my weight gain too. That's my main focus right now. So, does fasting work best when you're doing keto? I know there's several benefits to that type of eating, but it's definitely not for me.

Ya know what else blows my mind. I live in the south and everyone is obese! Almost EVERYONE! they say to me i don't look that heavy. wtf are they seeing! I grew out of Walmart XL SWEATS! THAT'S HUGE! i found my ski pants from when i was thin in my 20s, they are labeled a size 12! Yes, 12! A 12 back in 1987 WAS TINY, now a 12 for a 5'2 has been inflated and it's OBESE! THAT IS REALITY! That's big companies trying to make us feel better while keeping us fat. I'm done with it , I'm still probably a 14/16 and that's have. I'm at war with this fat, it's coming of now

PS - Alcohol is another downfall of mine. I love having a drink or two at the end of my work and school day, but my gut (literally) says it's time to say goodbye to that for now, which will be hard for me.

I am never hungry on a fast, but I have the 'desire' to eat. This is mental so it can happen at anytime during the fast. Vigorous exercise gets me past those moments.

@SunnieDillard - I started slowly with one day fasts. I also allowed myself to drink milkshakes. I slowly eased into it. this is your fast.

River res, you inspire me! I wish i could afford to live on Colorado again. I lived all over the mountains and went to UCD for college. High carb diet are a product of marketing, and big food industry addicting people. I'm on a roll today lol. Today i ran into a couple they said they saw a keto news piece yesterday and how bad it was. I wanted to scream! So many have eliminated insulin, blood pressure medicine and reversed their diabetes, cleared there hormone imbalances, cleared their skin problems, helped neurological problems, and lost weight while not starving! I love keto! I'm gonna break fast with bacon or a steak or bone broth depending how long i go.
