Good morning, Friends!

It's Monday morning, and I am feeling ready to take on another week. Work wise it'll be easy, as I have several things that I need to take days off to go do.

Wife has a checkup at the hospital Wednesday, and I have one Friday.

So it's just Monday, Tuesday and Thursday (cake day!) that I need to attend to. The idea is to get going even more on those days at work. I think I will simply go in earlier instead of leaving later, to get a full day of work and still enjoy going home with Wife.

The Black Peanut concert Saturday was definitely a success. It was tons of fun, and people really liked the music. We constantly had people out dancing, and even if we played for an older crowd (it was a double 60's birthday!), they rocked HARD! Even songs like Smoke On The Water couldn't bring them down. It was so much fun.

We made a little money on it too, so now I have (almost) enough money to buy my next speaker cabinet for my HUGE bass gear! The gear I already had worked super well at the show, and there were several bass players there who were very - VERY - curious about my sound and what I was playing on. They couldn't tell from a distance what it was (this is not one of the "classic", easily recognizable amps), but they really liked the sound. I was of course happy to show them. One even asked for me to write to him giving him some info on it, as he is looking into buying one.

Foodwise, the day ended up being a little chaotic. Too many sudden changes that I had trouble planning alongside being soundguy, roady and rock star, but it all worked out in the end. I did go much higher on my calories than expected though. Or so I think. I didn't calculate everything, as we had food on our own, and at the party. it's hard to calculate a lot of the stuff that was served, so I just did the best I could, but without worrying too much.

Sunday, I went the complete opposite direction. We didn't sleep until 4 AM, so breakfast as around 11 AM when I got up, effectively pushing out lunch from my food plans. Dinner was light too, and I was actually at around 450 calories for the day when I decided that I wanted some sugar free gummies. I went and got some, and got my intake to around 700. MUCH lower than normally, but I was never hungry or anything, and I still don't like to eat just to up my calories. These days I don't find it necessary, and I don't feel that I am at anything that looks like a plateau.

I didn't lose any weight - fat or fluids - today. That's fine. I've often seen two days with no weight loss after an indulgence day, and that's how I see this. I am a few kgs higher than I was Friday morning, but they'll come off soon.

Besides, the fluids have most likely gathered a little after Saturday too. There was a LOT of moving around, especially during the concert, and I was on my feet for about 7 hours without ever getting to sit down. This takes quite a toll on my body right now, and I can tell that I have more fluid in my stomach area, inner thighs etc. I'm sure that can easily account for the gain.

Today I am back to drinking tons of water (which I did most of the time yesterday too), and doing well. No sugar, just like yesterday, and I will stick to it all week.

Interestingly enough, I did have some sugar snacks on Saturday, but Sunday I was right back on track. I had no urge for them, and when I felt like gummies for my evening snack, I had full focus on going sugar free. The rest didn't appeal to me.

...

So today it's all about work, and I'm gonna be practicing my songs a little more. We're getting together for session number two of Burnin' Live tomorrow night, and I can't wait! We're gonna try out a singer, and I'm curious to see how it goes. I wanna practice the song arrangements a little more, so I think I will simply focus on the four songs that we're gonna be playing, and go through them a few times. I don't have THAT much time in the mornings, so I need to proritize it a little bit. Playing through them takes about 25 minutes, so I can't do it MANY times. I do play them at least daily though, to get the feel. Especially Deep Purple's "BURN" is kinda tough to remember the arrangement of, so that one really has to be worked for me to get it under my skin.

Anyways,

Today I am thankful for:
- The positive outlook for a good week.
- Morning coffee!
- Seeing Daughter get up early to have her first day in a new school, starting her education as a graphic designer/web designer.
- A great night's sleep - again! :)

Happy Monday! Rock on, friends! Life is good!

I wonder how many calories you burn giving a concert? It would be interesting to track with a heart rate monitor. Anyway, I am sure if your rocking out for several hours, you get to eat a little more. Rock Stars do it all the time, or they dont eat by doing drugs. Either way is a win win!

LOL, JP. Not sure the drugs are a good idea, though we often see sustainable weight loss in rock stars (until it kills them).

I agree King, and lets not get into the age issue. lol. I like to read the rock stars back stage demands (riders), there are very few who demand healthy stuff. There are a couple though. I do that at smoking gun dot com.

I think if The Black Peanut were to have a rider, we'd demand four pots of coffee, a nice loaf of bread and a small assortment of cheese. :)
