CJT1217's Journal, 07 August 2012

Did great on the stats yesterday, although I estimated dinner as best I could. had to get a fuel system cleaning down at pepboys after work last night and the only place to eat around there was Costco, Olive Garden, and Red Lobster. So I meandered over to Red Lobster (via Best Buy, aka every dude's toy shop) and took a seat at the bar. Well, I couldnt resist a cold one, so I ordered a couple low carb solutions, the after scourering their menu for a good 10-15 minutes while watching the Giants game, I finally decided on their 4 course special. Soooo, I ordered their spicy tortilla soup (no tortilla strips included, so that was good), a house salad with ranch sauce (picked off the carrots, tomatos, and cucumber. Not into that stuff anyway), had their garlic and buttery chicken (ate 1/2 the portion) and shrimp with broccoli substituted for the mash potatoes, and ordered their key lime pie which is sitting in the freezer waiting for annihilation on sunday after I get back from Monterey. I then got home, around 8, relaxed for a tiny bit, had a pretty good back/bis/abs workout, had my post workout shake, and off to bed at 11.

-1 lb today. I'm already seeing that low carb + cardio is critical to shake off the waterweight from carb comsumption for my bod. This week I'll keep a very close eye on the trends concerning diet and exercise sans cardio.

La la la....it amazes me what you can eat, and still lose weight! How's your calf muscle these days? I bet you miss the trails but you gotta let it heal. Oh, and on your previous journal thread, some trouble is brewing!!!! LOL

Same here when I have a carb overload. Crazy how our bodies can be. I was never like this when I was younger, damn old age! PS is you ever go to Red Lobster - The sodium is a KILLER (more than a days worth!) but this is my go to meal... Red Lobster Wood-Grilled Lobster, Shrimp and Scallops WITHOUT RICE and broccoli as a side. With one biscuit (Come on no one can resisit!) and a garden salad and balsamic vinegar (or I sneak it from home) runs about 590 cals, 19 fat, 37 carb and 48 protein. Better yet skip the biscuit (yeah right lol) and the crutons and it's just about 420 cals, 10 fat, 17 carb, and 48 protein. It's one of my favs since we don't get good seafood around here and I took a lot of time to figure it out with their site and some adding and subtracting with numbers on here lol.

I miss the trails so much. It's driving me nuckin futs! Trail running wasnt only a great way for me to get my sweat on, but is therapeutic as well. Soon enough! Dangit Thynes, you're making me want to go back! Ya, everything last night did taste pretty darn salty. And oh man, I wanted to tear those biscuits up, but as it turned out, I took 3 little pieces off of one for taste (and took the three home. They're in the freezer bahaha). Buttery garlicky chicken and shrimp yum yum. MM hmmmmmmm.

PS you can tell them to watch the salt and it helps alittle. They are pretty accomodating.

Your willpower is fantastic! I have been sliding on the food and exercise, time to get my butt in gear. And oh, Key Lime pie. That is sin itself!

Thanks! Hopefully I can keep this up all week. No cardio while i'm healing, so I guess I have to be uber strict. So far so good....
