Miraculum's Journal, 20 July 2018

No scale for 30 days. Starting with this weigh-in. I'll be logging food, activity, and blood sugar readings, and will only weigh in again on August 19th.

Now, this doesn't mean eating what I want and "covering the carbs" with insulin. NO!

I've never done it this way but my "health goal" is to reverse T2DM with diet and minimal medication. I will be planning meals targeting macros at 80% fat (1116.8 cal., 124.09g), 15% protein (209.4 cal., 52.35g), and 5% carbohydrate (69.8 cal., 17.45g total) on a calorie count of 1396 calories per day.

[Yep -- had to edit to correct my math!]
219.0 lb Lost so far: 66.0 lb.    Still to go: 51.0 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

Best of luck with this! It is an achievable goal and I am confident you will do well! I am still struggling to keep the carbs below 10. Now that my garden has dried up with our unseasonable record heat, I may improve there. The fat and protein are not such a problem for me now. As for locking away the scales, that is probably the best way to keep from weighing daily!

Excited about you going for reversal of the T2DM. Sound investment. I've heard a few doctors mention that waist being half of height is a good indicator of reversal, and it is a goal I keep in sight. Thought I was there already, but found my tape measure start at 0 a fair bit in. (Not at the end) So I'm only almost there. I've never had a blood test, I just go by feel. You would better know your progress, I'm sure.

You can do this, Miraculum! Funny thing, my health coach just told me that I need to stop looking at the scale, except for when he weighs me in every other week. He said the scale can be such a depressant and doesn't truly reflect what is going on. You could gain on the scale and it could be water or that time of month or hormones for other reasons. He told me, and I'll pass this on to you, concentrate each day on changing a habit, just one habit and work on that. Don't worry about the scale, because that will change as our habits change. You have already lost 66 pounds, you are well on your way!
