Good morning, Fatsecret!

Phew, I'm so glad we're starting a new week. I need a new week. I need to reboot, I feel.
Let's start with the weight, though I'm not fully sure why I bother. It's up and down and all over the place, but at least it's much lower today. I dropped 1.5 kgs - 3 lbs - since yesterday's crazy night.

I'm down to 87.5 kgs - VERY far away from my goal, it seems. Still, I do see that I am not too much in control and can only do my best. The post surgery fluid build-up will be there for quite a while no matter what I do, but it's damn hard for me to accept that I can't do much about them.

I still have fluid around the huge cut. When I went for a check-up last Wednesday, I had a little "blimp" on the scar, and Lady Surgeon wanted to make sure the little thingy wasn't infection. She cut it open to confirm this, and with hopes of draining the little fluid that was sitting there. Well, it was NOT infection, but she wasn't able to drain anything either, so I got a large band-aid patch on it and was eventually sent on my way.

It hasn't stopped draining since!

I suppose it's a good thing, because it helps me get all the goo out, but boy is it a pain in the rear. I need to put compression gaze on it constantly, change it, clean it, take care of clothes that gets soaked from it, my girdles get it, etc. Geeez!

Fortunately, it's looking better and better everyday, and the hole is slowly closing. Finally.

Yesterday, I did not do ANYTHING. I was so exhausted after the wedding Saturday, and I had absolutely no energy. I did take two hour nap, and I went to bed at 8 PM. I was beat. I slept tight all night - confirmed by Wife, who was about to kill me in my sleep because I was snoring all night - but I don't feel that I have slept enough yet. I am SO sleepy.

I know that if I go back to bed I will just lie there though. No point. Maybe an afternoon nap after I come home from work would do.

Instead, I will spend a little time setting up my amp so I can practice bass. I will probably spend 30 mins or so going through the songs I need to play with BURN.

Oh, and we've agreed that we need to chance the band name, sadly. We all like the name, but it will be trouble further on.

See, we are hoping to get to play live quite a bit, and hoping to get in on town festivals and that kind of deals. One of the big sponsors on such events in Denmark has an energy drink called - you guessed it - BURN. So, I am pretty sure that will confuse things, and maybe even make us miss jobs or worse.

So, we've agreed to take the name just a little further and call the band "Burnin' Live". It has the same awesome tone to it, AND it indicates that we're a live band. Not bad, I think.

In a week or two we may have a guy auditioning to sing. I'm curious how it's gonna sound. I know he has the attitude to be a singer, but can he sing? Only time will tell... I'll keep you posted.

Today, I'm thankful for:
- A good night's sleep - though I want more.
- Morning coffee!
- MORE morning coffee!
- Wife taking good care of me yesterday. She's such a sweetheart.

Happy Monday! Life is good!

Sounds fantastic! You are healing well, the band is coming "alive" and you have enough energy to work a little bit, too! Life really is good!

An old boss of mine was in a band that they named Full Throttle which is also an energy drink. They kept it but had to change their logo which was very similar or the company was going to sue them. Glad to hear how well you are doing. After all this hassle post-operation, do you still think it was worth it?

Sounds nice Keld. Yes, your situation has you a bit out of control, plus that big old wedding party. That is sort of good you have been draining a few days, i bet it is yucky. Keep it clean! Eventually you will be back on track. Shoot, my leg was fixed 7-8 months ago and still has pain and bumps, etc. One of these days it will be behind. And wow, I hope this singer works out. Glad you rested up yesterday too...

Erin, it is ALL worth, hassle or not. My body looks GREAT, it's just a matter of getting all this behind me. I have no regrets at all. As PosterC says, it will all be behind one of these days. I just get really impatient, and you all know how I get when the scale won't play nice.

I am not surprised you were exhausted after all that activity. It's still quite early days yet..... Glad you managed to get a good nights sleep though... Just showed how much you needed it (I expect DW needs it now LOL). As you say - the leakage is a pain... But it's good the grunge is coming out.... Take care :-)
