Walkin' shoes for me birfday

This past week has been a challenge. I've been traveling for business, and then unbelievably busy with desk work upon returning, but I've tried not to let that be an excuse for sedentary behavior.

While in the hotel, I used the gym's treadmill to walk, albeit a total of 2.5 miles in 3 days. Not great, but not horrible. Once home, my new Skecher Shape-Ups arrived from Amazon. I wore them on my walks Monday (total of 3.63 miles, but who's counting?) and could definitely feel the extra stretch. Tuesday my right ankle felt as though I'd twisted it (I hadn't, damn ankle). Between that and the meetings and the afternoon doc appt, I passed up my walking dates with Skecher.

My bathroom scale is possessed

I've written before about how I can appear to gain 2 lb just by drinking a cup of coffee. This morning I weighed in as follows:

6:30 164.5
8:30 162.5 (after coffee)
8:44 164.5 (what the...?)
8:45 163.5 (okay, this is stupid)

So I'm logging in my average of 163.75 and will wait to see if the leprechauns in my scale are feeling wicked or charitable tomorrow.
163.8 lb Lost so far: 14.2 lb.    Still to go: 18.8 lb.    Diet followed 100%.

I just read on article on those shape ups. They warned about causing injured ankles, so I guess just be safe with them. If they really hurt you don't keep trying to use them thinking that you'll just get used to it. It'll probably end up doing more harm than good.

I have been wearing MBTs, from which Shapeups are designed, and now the Shapeups, for several years. Not sure if you followed the break in period that is suggested, but if not I strongly recommend. But I will say, as the weight has come off, my thighs and butt look marvelous.

felix33, you nailed it. I haven't been good about following the instructions. I've been off the shoes for 24 hours now, but don't want to give up on them so I'll take your advice and do the warm-ups and start back in slowly. Thanks!

I wear MBT's exclusively you do need to break them in. Haven't tried the new Shape-ups but they look like a take-off of same. Couldn't live without 'em. Give them some time and you'll be fine.
