This is for the best. You are rebuilding/redesigning your body for the long term.

There are other ways to get exercise than a gym. Body weight resistance, and swimming are two that I can think of that are low impact, but very effective. I'm sure some will disagree, but pumping iron is for younger people. Don't forget, the kinesiologist is under your employment as a patient. Tell them what you are looking for, and their role is to come up with an exercise plan that fits that criteria.

I love bacon, too, and who really likes to exercise?!!

I don't do the gym either. I do long jogs because with my music on in my headphones it is a great mental thing. I also lift weights in my house.

It took me a long time to get into the gym mindset - it takes a long while - but now I look forward to it each day (my rest day is on Sunday) - bodyweight/cardio at the gym is a good way to start - you got this

I hate the gym!! I go for walks and have an elliptical, recumbent bike and a peddler at home. I dont use them as often as I should, but I do have them! haha

I am also a gymphobe. For me, the lesser of two evils is motivating myself to work out at home. You have done so amazing, you will figure out what works for you.

What goal(s) are you trying to reach via the gym?

I liked going to the gym at first but not loving it lately. My weight loss stalled for a bit, I got more hungry craving “bad” foods and my hair has been shedding like crazy since I started. It feels like stress my body is struggling to adapt to. I hope you adapt soon too! Maybe 3 times a week is too much...try going twice and see if that helps.

Have you tried working out at home? I have a Bowflex, recumbent bike, exercise bar, and yoga mat. Complete three 1.5 hour workouts every other day and do 40 minutes on the bike between. Just do five days a week. Who says older people can't do weights? I am 63 and consider it a necessary part of my workout.

I don't like going to the gym either. I think any more if I went it would just be to see what kind of machine I might like to get. LOL! I don't care for being around people when I exercise. Just my thing. I have a bike and a bowflex at home and while there are other things I think I would like this is fine for now

Truly, @chesgreen, truly! Oh, I'm keenly aware of that lil' ole fact, @ggreen67 - intend to make somethin' happen'! Thanks @jengetfit123 - appreciate the kudos! @TomLong - just trying to get stronger, so I can pick up heavy things around my house/work again. @Erquiaga - once I get the house built, I'll have that kind of room - yay!

I have my own "gym" in my den. I can workout whenever it's convenient, don't waste time driving and don't have to deal with other people, lol. My youngest son works out with me some, which is nice. I do 10 min or so of cardio, then focus on weights/resistance anywhere from 30 min to an hour, depending on what else I have to do that day. I could honestly workout longer if I had the time. I love it!

I hear you @glen... if only "pushing my luck", "leaping to conclusions" and "stretching the truth" burned calories. Spoke with KT about two hours ago... he's releasing me to the regular gym; so, here's goes nothing (or everything!)

I used to love the gym. Spent hours there. 5 days a week! Lol. Maybe though it was because I ended everytime with the pool then the jacuzzi. Ahhhhh. That was heaven on my tired body. Keep trying things and see what works best for you. Either way I know you’ll rock it cause you’re a rock star!!! 🌟

LOL! Laying it on pretty thick, @ClarityAnn - but, it's SO appreciated!
