Wow.

My mission to lose the water weight (and what ever else needs to be lost) is succeeding big time.

I am down 2.3 kgs(!) since yesterday - and of course this will have nothing to do with fat loss, but much more to do with losing all the water that is sitting in my body.

I have experienced a big loss like this every day since I went back to "my mission". I have noticed a lot of water in my inner thighs mostly, but also the rest of my legs and my belly, especially in the evenings.

I sleep with my feet elevated, and it seems to help me shed the water, and of course me drinking a lot of water seems to help also. Right now I drink a large glass of water every hour on the hour. It's a royal pain to keep up with, and especially keeping up with the potty breaks, as I really have to plan where I'm going, but I'm doing it and it seems to be working. I wonder how long I can keep losing water like this - kgs per day. It'd be nice if I can just keep going, but I know it doesn't work like that. Before I know it I'm done with that, and it'll take more work.

Yesterday I really wasn't very good to myself. I had WAY too much fun to be bothered with taking care of myself and listening to my body. Of course, this is not ENTIRELY true, as my body will tell me when it's time to stop - but I did push it, and I was exhausted when I came home. I was on my feet for a whopping 7 hours, playing music, and working hard on it too.

We met for the first time to try out the new band, BURN, and see if we had any chemistry. Oh, boy, did we have chemistry. It was TONS of fun, and we played really well for a 1st rehearsal, I think.

It was me playing the bass, my friend The Captain playing drums (and playing them LOUD) and a young kid playing guitar. When I say young, I mean YOUNG. He is 15, Jack is 40 and I am 42. Quite a difference, I'd say.

He's having a blast playing with us seniors, though, and he is all excited to be playing in a band with "real musicians" as he put it. All he's done before is playing in school bands or with same-age friends that are nowhere near his level in talent.

We are playing classic rock and classic metal, so it's a lot of noise and really high volume, but it's a LOT of fun.

Curious how we did? Check it out! This is of course under rehearsed, it's just us fooling around with a couple of songs, most of it played from memory. We haven't ever played these things before other than apart from jamming on our own, so I am very surprised how well we got it together.

This is filmed with my video camera, so sound is not all that great, but it can give an idea of how we are doing, and the FUN!

It's probably a little to metal for some of you, but we love it! :)

We all agree that we need to get moving on this, and do more!

So, today is a quiet day. Wife and Daughter will be out on their own adventures, and I have a quiet day ahead of me. I have a few things I need to get done through the day, and then just take it easy.

I burned a lot of energy yesterday, and I really need to relax today. It'll be nice, too.

So, today I'm thankful for:
- An AMAZING first rehearsal!
- Sleeping late today. I sleep 11 hours - that's a first in a LONG time!
- Morning spent with wife, awesome (healthy) breakfast and morning coffee.
- A quiet Sunday.

I hope your weekend is as great as mine. Life is good!

Wow... Look at YOU.... Standing and moving around like that.... No one would believe you had just gone through a major op, a few weeks ago. He's a tall lad for 15 .... He looks very comfortable with you "seniors" :-)

I gotta say I was amazed that I could move that freely. It's going really well, Pam. I could, of course, tell that I had taken a beating when I got home. Still, it's all in the name of rock and roll. It was ALL worth it.

Let's see about the fluid weight. My weight right now is about 5 kgs (!) above what it was this morning. I hope I can shed some through the day and night.

I can't wait to watch these clips when I get home from work!!! Also, I've found working with much younger people to be awesome... less ego, more imagination, and really keen to share knowledge and learn as much as possible.

I always told my kids that a musical career would last much longer than a career in sports. My son chose drums over football...you guys are proving my point with this young man! Excellent!
