I don't post in my journey very often these days. As my Buddies know, I have been in maintenance for more than a year and my weight has been in control the majority of the time. Everybody runs into bumps in the road from time to time. Tracking here on Fatsecret makes recovery from these bumps easier. I encourage everyone to continue to stay in the game and to keep on tracking calories consumed and burned by activity. You can make it work...

Ditto John...I also find that tracking intake does two good things for me beyond just recording calories. It firstly really helps me be more mindful of portion size and secondly it puts the inevitable diet slips or big calorie days into perspective (no guilt or stress). So what if these happen...I log it then adjust over the next day or two to recover. Also, now I'll even plan to limit my calories before a known big social event so I'm "catching up" instead of getting ahead with the bigger meal or day.

Also, FYI, I've got over half a small tub of unplanned Ben & Jerry's "hiding" in a past food log, over 1100 not so good calories all at one sitting. Thankfully that doesn't happen very often, but after logging the binge, it didn't feel insurmountable to overcome it with a big workout and some IF over a day or two...certainly not endorsing binges but they sure don't need to derail lots of prior good diet work.

Hi John. You are a role model for sure. Thanks for continuing to post. My journey has been less than stellar but I am still working at it. I did get a Fitbit Charge2 and it has really made me more aware of my activity. Question, some of the apps like lose it link with fit bit. Do you only use fatsecret or are you u sing another app compatible to fit bit. Hi to all of my other d's friends. I got a new phone and I have had a very hard time with the updated d's app figuring out how to find my community. Blessings!
