Draglist's Journal, 14 May 2014

Evening weigh in of 206.4 pre-dinner but after three single malt scotches at happy hour. Ate a nice dinner and snack since I'm going to hop on the treadmill for an hour. The extra workout gave me a lot of calories to work with. Today's calorie deficit is 1005 based on the body fat reading. Let's see what the weight is in the morning.

PS. Added two tablespoons of Hershey's Cocoa to my frozen banana treat tonight and it was heaven. I'm telling you... basically LOW calorie ice cream, whenever you want it! Just freeze some bananas and go for it! See yesterday's journal for the simple recipe.

Yep it is. Bananas are so high carb though - just saying. Could you cut it to one banana and add an avocado for the good fat? I've blended that together - banana, avocado and cacao powder. Mmmm You can't taste the avocado at all.

Avocados are great for smoothie type things. I got a Ninja blending system last December and have used it to make some good stuff....there's an avocado chocolate pudding that's very good.

Ninja's and frozen bananas are a match made in heaven ;-) Most of the time I use half a banana then add other fruits or veggies. The banana seems to be key though to get the creaminess factor.

I love my Ninja. Use it everyday to make my own concoction of a breakfast smoothie, has about 330 calories, 28g protein, 12g fiber and lots of good nutrients, keeps me satisfied until lunch. I try to vary the ingredients, sometimes it gets half a banana in it.

I buy bananas when they are on sale. Blend them up and freeze the mush in 3 oz dixie cups then toss in a freezer bag. Great for morning smoothies, snacks whatever. Actually do that with lots of fruits, works great for leftover fruit salad that you know won't keep long.
