I started eating cleaner about 2.5 weeks ago and have been exercising daily for about 3 weeks (a couple days of rest when my body demands it). I started out at 157 and was using the lose it! app to track my calories. During that time I dropped to 150 and a jeans size. Yesterday I discovered fatsecret and liked the interface more so I switched.
I'm happy to report on my second day of fatsecret that this is the first time in a year that I've weighed below 150. I was 149 this morning and I nearly cried. 2 more pounds and I'll be lighter than my husband!! He's one of those annoying skinny guys that can eat whatever he wants and lose weight. :D
3 years ago I had no idea I'd have to do this. I was a fitness buff, a clean eater and an energetic person. We have two children, ages 5 and 8 and have been together for 7 years, married for 2. We bought our first home in 2010 and I became a stay at home mom. I gradually became less and less active as I acquired more hobbies (sewing, painting, game beta-testing and game development, digital art)Next thing I knew I went from 125 to 157 over the course of 3 years. Inactivity is BAD! even if you are creating beautiful art :) Well I'm done with it. I can't wear half the clothes I've made because I widened out, I can't enjoy my closet. Towards the end there I was wearing only hoodies because I just wanted to cover up. My poor eating habits were causing worse acne, a build-up of belly fat, and I was diagnosed hypoglycemic and pre-diabetic. It was time to make a change.
I felt like I had plateaued at 150-152 and was getting discouraged and then this morning happened. That was the boost I needed! Today is a day off from exercising because I have a ton of errands to run and my daughter has come down with strep throat. Despite that I still have to go to the grocery store...perhaps I'll squeeze in some Just Dance with my son this evening if I can. I can do this!
