CarrieV.'s Journal, 26 April 2018

So, I'm close to losing 20lbs and my pants are getting big on me. I also have some very worn out jeans (because I hate shopping when I'm so heavy) so I went to Goodwill and bought some new jeans today in my new size! I refuse to pay full price when I'm losing weight and know they won't be worn for too long!! I was so happy to buy smaller sizes! I feel like I'm on cloud 9! ☁️ πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

Non Scale Victory!!!!! I love the thrift shops, have found some amazing bargains there. Now I am shopping my own closet - clothes from years ago fit again. I donated all my larger size stuff to Goodwill.

I know I stashed a box of clothes I outgrew somewhere, I just can't find them. πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ Hopefully they are in the garage... my husband stacked a bunch of things that I'm unwilling to mess up! Lol πŸ˜†

Better have the hubby dig them out soon. You're gonna need 'em!

i have a funny goodwill story. i am also very close to losing 20 lbs and all my favorite jeans are also too big. i seem to be fitting in mostly 10s. which is fine. but there is this one pair of 12s that just didn't t fit no matter what until last week. i wore them out walking last night and they were really rubbing me raw on the waist. well, once i got home, i pulled a thread and lo and behold, whoever had them before me had taken them in a good inch on each side of the waist and done a really good job. i had wasted all this time wondering why this one pair didn't fit, and it's because they were altered quite a bit. now, it's working for me and i will probably go back and resew that alteration.

That’s a great Goodwill story. I mostly use safety pins for my alterations.

another plus, buying and selling secondhand is good for humanity, the environment, the local economy and the economy in your nation and world as a whole. it puts money and clothes at reasonable prices in the hands of hard working people with good intentions rather than large careless companies owned by the rich 1% that will do anything to amass cash and power, hurting people, animals, environments, economy, and freedom. good on you. :)

@fhhgd I wholeheartedly agree! Goodwill has helped a lot of people I know become employable and find new career paths. They are a good company. I love supporting them and donate to them a couple times a year.

Great Success! Your doing good. Agreed, it is a pain to keep having to buy clothes... Rather spend money on other things while still pursuing weight loss. Congratulations!
