Steven Anthony's Journal, 24 April 2018

Day eight of my 90 day program was rough. I woke up feeling pretty good. I wasn't hungry, no headache, but felt slightly weak. The strange thing over the 3 day fast is my sense of peace increased. I had less depression and anxiety. Crumbcake was cooperating. I had a keto-coffee, planned my food for the day, and headed to the park to walk.

Food planning was difficult because I knew I was going to be hungry once I started eating. I added an extra egg to lunch and decided to eat a few more calories if I needed to, just to get through.

Once I started eating, I was hungry all day. I kept drinking water and coffee and sugar-free gum, but still hungry. Crumbcake was not happy. I had to cook dinner and ate a couple extra jalapeno cream cheese poppers (keto style). Went to bed and slept good.

So important to understand the refeeding process. It was the weakest part of my program. This is the point where Crumbcake might go mad and eat everything in sight. Anyway, today is a new day, I hope I remain in control. I'm starting to realize that fasting is about letting stuff go, cleansing and detoxing, not just physical but emotional and spiritual. Today I will pray for people who want to let stuff go!

Have a great day everyone! I wish you continued success.

Is Crumbcake your alter-ego? LOL :) Yes, thank you for the prayers. I need to let go of weekend binging.

Yes, Crumbcake is that little child inner voice that wants to have his way, even when it's not healthy. He likes to eat things that make me sick but he also likes to have fun and exercise. So, we are trying to work things out together for a much better life.

Thanks for sharing. I call the day after my "feast day" because I am refueling - I tend to go just over my RDI. I will be fasting again on Thursday. I am still not brave enough to make it over 36 hours.

@RiverRes, thank you, yes I see why it is a "feast day", it is very hard to eat like a normal day.
