One success: went for my first run since breaking my foot
One failure: pigged out on sugary foods this weekend

So Saturday I completely fell off the wagon. Not sure what happened - but I had a cinnamon bun from a local italian bakery for breakfast, followed by their delicious almond and pistachio cookies for lunch. Add in a beer or two and by dinner I was feeling so crappy that I was craving protein. No more carbs for me, thank you very much!

So I did gain back a couple of pounds as a result of retaining water (the carbs plus the monthly timing), but now I'm back on track so the pounds should come back off again pretty easily.

On a great super exciting note, I went for my first run yesterday since breaking my foot back in February!! I was worried that it would hurt or get sore or make it challenging to run, but gave it a try anyway. I only did about a mile and a half because I didn't want to increase mileage too quickly, but it was a great feeling!! I didn't realize just how much I missed running. Can't wait to get back out there (but not today because it is raining).

Great job on getting out there! I was never much of a jogger myself since I had knee trouble when I was young. When your muscles start to remember what you did when you were active you can almost feel the old you in there somewhere. Keep it up! Sorry to hear about falling off the wagon....but cinnamon buns ..especially fresh ones are very irresistable. Italian bakeries don't offer much by way of protein (I know..I'm Italian) unless you count deli meat. I'm glad there isn't one near me. My monthly time is soon so I may not weigh myself again because I retain water like crazy. I also crave chocolate and sweets ...almost had a Snickers I found in a drawer (thanks hubby) but just before I talked myself into it I rated on a scale of 1 to 10 how bad I'd feel about it after and how good I thought it would taste. Unless taste wins out I am figuring it is not worth the cheat. A glass of red wine and a slice of NY cheesecake on my birthday is definitely going to be worth the cheat on my scale ;)

Sometimes when I fall off the wagon it makes me even more motivated to get back into the groove! Congrats on the run!

Thanks for the encouragement :) I've been trying to get back on the wagon for a few days now, but a beer out with friends after kickball practice, some homemade dark chocolate ice cream (OMG SOOO GOOD), etc and I'm having trouble convincing myself to go without. Today I'm back on track though - I have 1 week before my vacation and I need to lose this water weight!
