I understand being discouraged - sometimes it is the macros. Maybe not less calories but different...more protein often works for me. Hang in there.

You might be right about that, HCB. And thanks, Glenn. :)

Don't get discouraged! :) And like HCB I find that upping my protein and water helps on the scale

40% carbs 40% protein, HIIT workouts + strength training or yogalates, intermittent fasting and 500 calories Monday and Wednesday are my formula when I need to get back in shape fast and keep the results. Try it, it's more sustainable than eating fewer calories every day and slowing down metabolism.

PS: I think I wrote it down to convince myself to get back into that routine too :)

what is your daily basal?

Lashrebeka try cutting out refined carbohydrates, sugar, all processed foods. There's no reason anyone should go down to 1000 calories a day. You won't lose any fat that way, but you will lose lean body mass, which is not a good thing. It may also cause major damage to your metabolism.

You don't want to go to far down in calories, it will decrease your metabolism even farther. Sometimes eating more (within reason) will get you further than eating less. Thin about the Biggest Loser contestants. They tanked their metabolisms, it's what happens when you eat too little for too long. If your basal is 1460, try 1200 - that should get you about half a pound a week, more if you're exercising.

Also up your fat intake with healthy fats. Fats will satiate you. Do not be afraid of them.

Just count your macros and your calories will fall into place

Thank you everybody for your kind advice. I *changed my mind* - I've been keeping it at 1,200, weighing everything carefully, and focusing on adding protein. I'm also exercising more regularly. Hopefully those factors will help more than attempting to restrict to 1,000 would. Thanks again guys.

I would say. Aim for 1800 daily for 2 weeks. If your weight is decreasing by .8-1.8lbs. Keep it at that level. If less, or not at all. Start having 1600 daily. 1200 is way too low for you. You’ll fell better and lose fat easier around those levels. So give that a shot first. Think less is more, not more is more, if that makes sense.
