I took this from FS Member [@we are what we eat] because it helps me feel motivated. I use to wonder why I would work out and eat right and not see results on the scale... then I would quit... and without doing anything the scale would drop. I've noticed the delay and I feel this graphic helps explain why:

That's great to know. I wonder what the timeline is for the fat cells finally shrinking.
