Well... Yesterday, I increased my calories, about 500 w/fat mostly and up once again by almost 1 lb (.8). Maybe to much avocado? I'm not sure if I should try increased calories for a couple more days or not??? I am trying to follow Jason Fung's on Diet Doctor, per my physician.

I have a couple of other issues that I need to resolve:
I have been constipated off and on since starting LCHF. Too much fiber does not do well with me. I guess I will try the tea 'Smooth Move'?

I have had a fatty liver (from being obese, NOT alcohol)and for some years get pain from time to time. Since I have been LCHF, I have the pain more often than not. Any words of wisdom??? I have heard to use apple cider vinegar 3x day, milk thistle, and on Dr. Berg's podcasts, he recommends eating 5-7 cups of above ground low carb veggies and not to include them in your 20 carbs each day. I am totally stumped.

Maybe talk to your doctor? If he recommended the diet, hopefully he will have some advice. I wish I could help! Trying to figure it out myself🙂 if you find something that works well, let us know! Hugs to you

momma6224, I just sent a message to my dr. I have been contemplating it since Friday. I'm crossing my fingers that she helps guide me through this and I can stay on LCHF.

From the looks of things, I am the only person on LCHF who has not had a problem going. I drink a gallon of water per day and eat fresh vegetables that I grow myself. If I suspect a problem might be forming, I drink cold water followed by hot coffee. My aunt, who was born in 1906, told me that this was the way to stay regular. -- I have not met a person whose intestine can resist a cup of fresh spinach with bacon dressing. (Please don't be the first!) I'll be praying for your relief.

I would definitely talk to a dietitian. If you have a fatty liver, you would probably benefit more from a low fat diet. If you have Facebook, check out The Miller Method, or look up their website themillermethod.com they work with a lot of people with a lot of different dietary needs. I work with them and love them. They have helped me tremendously. The foods we eat shouldn't make us feel sick, tired, or uncomfortable. Food is to nourish our bodies and give us energy. Hope things get better for you!

moogiemynes, I am happy for you that all is working well. Thank you for your input and support. I did do Atkins some years back and lost 85 lbs over 2 years, then a stall for 4 months. I do eat baby spinach, so I will add the bacon dressing next time, and maybe squeeze in a little more water. I drink 82 oz's almost most days. :)

mrsdave1, Thanks for mentioning the apples. I can't eat them on my WOE. I am also getting out of pre-diabetes zone and now have my blood sugar under control. :)

Draglist, Thanks, I'll check out the 'Slimming Tea'. I really don't care for red wine, so that's out and don't have to worry about using up 10 carbs. LOL!

Fatty liver can be cleared up with keto. You're on track with the ACV and milk thistle idea. Berg is not an MD, just a chiro, so...

CoachKitty, I've sent a message to my physician. I'm sure she will refer me to a dietitian. Thanks for mentioning The Miller Method. I will check it out. Although, I don't really want to pay anyone to lose weight unless it is face to face in person. Thank you! :)

Ann Marnae, Thanks, that is what I understood while doing Atkins years ago, and what my physician said prior to the start of LCHF WOE. I just stumbled across Berg yesterday. His approach and Jason Fung are different. My physician directed me to Jason Fung.

I'm pulling for you, Moondove! A lot of people think a gallon is 64oz. That is half a gallon. A gallon is 128 ounces. I drink a cup an hour.

I don't have a problem with that but I'm counting calories so that is different than your diet. But also I got my gallbladder out years ago and ever since then I haven't had a problem in that way. What seems to work for me is coffee too. Everybody is different.

moogiemynes, I thought that I was drinking the right amount of water. Just ran the calculator, 5 - 16.8 oz bottles = 84 oz. I'm not drinking a gallon like I should. Drats! I do drink 1 to 2 cups coffee a day too.. Thank you!😁

I also on diet doctors LCHF. I take 2 - 500mg magnesium tables and 1 potassium pill every night when I go to bed. It helps. And when I forget to take them I have issues the next morning, so it does work.

When one increases calorie intake is totally normal to gain 2-3 lbs but once ur body adjust u will go back down
