I figured out I do best when I eat the same things most of the time. When I try to make changes I end up overdoing it or not sticking to the plan. And I'm going off plan too often. Since I know I can lose weight with 1/4 to 1/2 bagel with light cream cheese and hot cocoa for breakfast, I'm going to stick with it. The rest of the time I eat quite a lot of avocado (usually 1/3 to 1/2 avocado) with chopped almonds, sometimes mixed with tuna or chicken, sometimes to make deviled eggs without the yolk. I am still drinking too much diet soda but will work on giving that up once I reach my final goal weight. I also make split pea soup and freeze it in one cup servings so that is always an option. I try to make sure I get 40-60 grams of protein a day, that's the biggest challenge for me.

You look amazing Fritzy your so close to goal. But goal is just a number, I put the emphasis on how you feel. When I drop the rest of my belly fat I will be at what I say is goal, not any chart or scale. You have a right to enjoy your simple pleasures. Love you girlfriend❤️

Sounds like you are really working hard at it. And the weight is coming down. Slowly is better because it's more likely to stay off.

Patty, I'm surprised at how much walking every day has really made a difference in how I feel and how much more I can do. Back in late September when I first started, I could barely make it to the corner, about 7 houses away. But I kept doing it every day, adding one more driveway each day til I made it down a hill and back up again. That hill was (and still is) so hard. At first I would have to stop 2 or 3 times while climbing it to catch my breath. Now I can do the hill without stopping - although it is still tough. But walking nearly every day in September, October, November, December, January and now February - I walked 13 miles last week! And now I am going to be planning (easy) hikes for a hiking group. Glad I didn't give up on the walking, it was hard to start out. The eating..................I'm still working on that, I'm not as consistent. Swiiila: Sometimes I work really hard at eating right, but it's a struggle. The holidays were actually easier to get through without any weight gain than January and February have been. I think I was super motivated during the holidays not to gain weight.

I meant to say I did a 13 mile walk last week - I think it was about 5 hours.

Your so close to goal March for sure will be your month!
No more sabbotaging your plan you deserve to reach it!
I love walking now, still not fast but I have neighbors rooting me on, pick up that pace lol, you can go faster ect. Never knew these people till I began walking in the RV Park.
I spent my whole life thin and active being a letter carrier I walked over 15 miles a day and drove as well. When I went through 4 hurricanes in 44 days I got sick. Thats when the weight started, well no more of that.
My lifestyle has changed!
Hang in there Fritzy I have faith in you❤️

Way to go. Six years ago my obituary was written (just waiting for the day) and funeral planned. Seven years before that I had been given 6 months to live, so I was not surprised with how I was. I had been almost house bound for 4 years. I started a nutrition program, and started walking 10 days after starting. I started walking just because I could and set a goal to walk 1150 miles because my house was 1150 square feet. It took me just over a year, but I did it. Then I got lackadaisical with my nutrition - not going totally off plan, but not following the map either. Some weight regained, but gratefully not all. I enjoy swimming but I cannot wait until the snow is gone and I can do nordic walking again. My knees are bone-on-bone now so it will be more difficult. So slippery on the roads now, and I don't go out walking when it is -30 to -45 windchill outside. Walking sure makes you feel better though doesn't it.
