Read up on the strategy you've been on. Very interesting. Several times in the past I've gone on a doctor directed 500 calorie a day fast. Liquid protein supplement with no fat - nothing else. But, I was carefully monitored with blood work one week and urinalysis the next. ECG every six weeks I was supplemented with potassium and sodium. Started out at 205 (5'4") Lost 65 lbs in 5 mos the first time; Kept it off 3 years. Gained 45 lbs over the next year. Lost it again. Next time it was 25 up - 25 down. Last time (April 2016) I lost 25 but then started putting it back on right away. I've decided that my time for going extreme isso extreme is over. Came back to FS and decided to do

Blathering on. Doing keto, breaking the sugar/carb addiction. All this to say, the problem with any diet is sticking with it after you get to goal. I've got to find something I can stay with forever I should post this on my timeline instead of taking up your time. I wish you luck in whatever works for you
. I'm following. 💕

Maintenance is tough. I hate the roller coaster of weight gain/loss/etc. so I'm not going there again. N.O.T. If I gain 2 lbs, I will take action to lose it right away - won't let more pile on. I gave away my fat clothes and I'm not going to need them ever again. I'm going to wear clothes that fit and show off my shape. No more loose or baggy tops or elastic waistbands.
Do I sound confident or wildly unrealistic?

Hi Jackie! My turn to "Blather"... My highest weight was 196. I'm familiar with the roller coaster. Maintaining is the trickiest part for me. This is the longest I have been within 10 lbs. of my "goal weight". Honestly, now that I think about it, I spent much more time at 165 than 150 so it's no surprise that my body wants to stay there. I've decided on a goal weight of 150 but alas I guess if I can stay at 159-161 for awhile that would be a win. One realistic goal at a time i guess. Changing eating habits is much easier for me than changing exercise habits. THAT should be my next challenge.

Also, I have found that eventually I can tolerate a few carbs once in awhile on a small scale and do okay. But every time I "dabble" in carbs I run the risk of falling off the wagon into that addiction and gaining weight very rapidly. I guess I just cannot be one of those 80/20 people.
