Concussion Discussion ............
I went into my Craniosacral massage therapy today for my concussion and had a severe bout of vertigo. I've been getting treated for vertigo by a neuro/chiropractor. He did a treatment on me the other day and it must have loosened something up, because -wow- was I dizzy. I was unable to stand; I kept falling over. I sat in the waiting room for an hour and a half after my appointment, because I couldn't move. I thought I was going to throw up. Finally, I texted my hubby to come pick me up, because there wasn't any way I was going to drive myself home. Things settled down, and later that day I went in for an urgent treatment for the vertigo, which seems to have helped. What a feeling. The room was spinning, I was sweating and trembling and felt like I was falling even when I was seated. Bizzarro! I'm hoping not to repeat that one again! This is one of the concussion symptoms.

I'm on keto, which is supposed to be neuro protective. I hope it's helping and not hurting my brain's healing. My neurologic - specialty chiropractor thinks it's a great idea.

Sounds like your chiropractor is doing more harm than good, so be careful. A lot of them don't really know what they're doing. Hope you feel better soon.

Neuroprotective to an extent, some muscles and cells do love keto diets but there are some that like some glucose too, so you should eat some food with carbs in too, as its easier for the body to just use those carbs than convert from fat and protein, also I am fairly sure neuroprotective refers to epilepsy so if you have it then yeah this is a good idea, but what happens essentially is by eating a low carb diet you are either increasing or decreasing the levels of neuro transmitter in the brain (this is like your nerves) and the rest of your body I suppose, (well not nerves synapses) I found that on the first time I tried to do a fast I got really dizzy and things so perhaps just up your food intake for a day or two or like the other comments said try a differnt chiropractor, phisio therapy is safer and the results are more permanent, especially if you are going for some kind of sports or other injury, hope this was helpful :).

Thank you all for your concern and experience. I hold this Chiropractor in high regard. He is trained in neuro issues and that's all he does. He has treated hundreds of vertigo and concussion cases. I'm in good hands. He's been so much more helpful than the neurologist or the hospital concussion center. He did loosen things up, but that is just part of the process. Post concussion syndrome just takes time to resolve.
