I'm recovering from a bad case of the flu that I caught around 12/27 while visiting relatives in Houston. So that's one way to lose 5 pounds. I had an intense headache for 4 days with vomiting, diarrhea, chest congestion, body aches and fever. I took 2 doses of DayQuil in 12 hours and that made it worse. My liver was killing me. So no more of that. I started taking manuka honey to see if I can clear up the lung congestion without having to go on antibiotics. Seems to be helping... or maybe the virus is just running its course. But the symptoms did seem like bronchitis or walking pneumonia. I'd rather stick to natural meds if possible.

I've been taking turmeric with curcumin and bioperine for the last 6 months and my knees are vastly improved.

Haven't reported here in a long time because of constant turmoil for the last 2 months. It's been one disaster after another since November. Started with someone falsely accusing me of felony elder abuse, and in Alabama, you're not allowed to know who your accuser is. The investigators have found it's all nothing but malicious lies. I'm pretty sure the accuser was a now former caregiver with jealousy issues. Regardless, it was a painful and disturbing experience. Then we were in a violent car accident on my birthday, on our way to a wedding. Totalled my mom's car and injured Mr C's back severely, but we were otherwise unharmed - miraculously, as we were rear-ended by a nut going 70 mph. Now we're forced to hire a lawyer as this moron lawyered-up before even telling his insurance company that he hit us. Same day as the wreck, my best friend called to say she had terminal cancer and 6 months to live. 2 weeks later I get a call from my insurance company about a minor car wreck I was involved in back in August. I had admitted fault and my insurance company handled the claim satisfactorily, but the person I hit is now planning to sue me for diminished value of their car. Never heard of such a thing. My insurance company said to turn it back over to them to handle if I hear from them. Then I come down with the flu. Then less than 24 hrs after we get home, we get a phone call from the nursing home saying Mr C's mom has fallen and broken her hip.

I'm ready to effin give up. But hey! I lost 5 pounds.
199.8 lb Lost so far: 12.2 lb.    Still to go: 49.8 lb.    Diet followed reasonably well.

Life happens doesn't it? That just makes the need for us to care for ourselves more important! We can do it.

Oh honey. When it rains it pours doesn’t it? So sorry to hear of all of your struggles. One day at a time, we continue to keep going. Losing weight by being sick stinks, hopefully you’re all better now and things will begin to get better for ya ❤️
